John Nichols: Wisconsin's Uprising

Why I’m anti-union

We are being strangled by taxes because of unions.

The only people getting raises are people in the unions. They are getting cost-of-living step increases, and not paying more for their insurance. The rest of us in private industry are getting paycuts, hours cut, benefit cuts, and the unions are complaining about the littlest things. They wont budge on anything. My husband and I are being forced out of Connecticut because the taxes are so high. The two of us together are at our highest earning potential in life, and still don’t earn what one teacher or policeman make. Unions suck.
