What a wonderful feature. Thank you. I read it on Wednesday after the devastating election results, particularly in the state of Florida. I would like to suggest that Raphael Lemkin, the Jewish lawyer who coined the term genocide, belongs on your list. As Samantha Power chronicled in her Pulitzer Prize–winning book, Lemkin devoted his life to the passage of international law to prevent genocide.

Problem with Debs

My only difficulty with Eugene Debs is that when I began a serious study of him in my early days, I found out he was an unreformed black racist. Meaning, he never changed from his racism.
