Howard Dean: We Can't Count on Politicians To Stand Up To Moneyed Interests

Politics has become a game of money and corporate lobbies rather than a process to create a government by and for the people. The rich push their agendas—as they have the financial means and the experience to "play the game"—while the majority of the country is marginalized and disgruntled. Change in this system can't happen from the top down.

Speaking from experience, Howard Dean addressed this year's Netroots Nation to condemn these moneyed interests in politics and claim that we, the people, will have to take responsibility for creating the long-awaited "change we can believe in."
