Gotta say, I'm feeling a bit nervous. Four years ago, I heard that the polls were probably not very accurate, that the Democratic candidate was probably way ahead because there was going to be a huge turnout of young voters, and that they were not being represented because pollers didn't call cell phones. Now I'm hearing the same thing. Four years ago, there was a major motion picture that for the first time in history was going to play a role in tipping the election. Now I'm hearing the same thing. Uh-oh.

This is a great observation, but I don't think you can compare John Kerry to Barack Obama. Kerry did not have half the charisma that Obama does. Also, the public was not as anti-war or bogged down by an economic crisis. I don't think Michael Moore has the mainstream appeal that Oliver Stone does either. I don't think this movie will matter that much but anything against Bush and the Republicans will be a help to Obama.

This is like one of those multiple choice tests with trick questions. Unfortunately, you can't chose multiple answers, and there is no "All of the above."
I chose "Releasing an unflattering film about a sitting president just a few weeks before Election Day is unprecented. W will definitely cause a stir."
The film will no doubt get the wingnuts all riled up, but will not have any impact on the election. That should have been one of the questions.
I never did like multiple choice.

The movie is scary in the way "Generation Kill" is. Truth can be a very unsettling thing. No doubt more about Cheney, Rove, etc. will come out after "dubya" leaves office. The way he has run his White House, all the secrecy, etc., makes Nixon's era look like Disneyworld. I HOPE a special prosecuter will be appointed and absolutely NO ONE given pardons, Rove was one too many, as it is! No one is above the law even former presidents and vice presidents. I hope they will be found guilty of running to what amounts to a police state & all guilty parties go to the lockdown hotel for a very long time!

Pundits will say that this critically acclaimed, well timed movie will have no impact on the election, but those who know better know that it will have the impact of pouring water on a drowning man.

The basic problem with the W movie is that it appeals to the base of Democrats who have already decided not to vote for McCain.
It also remains to be seen, just how popular this movie will become. If it is a flop, then it affects no one - if it is a smashing "must see" success, then of course it will have an impact.

W, Cheney & Co are war criminals & should be indicted.
Won't happen, however, not in the US & not after a Xmas '08 storm of pardons.
Abroad, well, that might be a different story. Some of these thugs, like Rumsfeld, may have to plan their foreign travel a bit more carefully than in the past.

People tend to not like seeing their President being ridiculed (deserved or not). This will create a backlash and a switch of 1 to 2% of the vote in favor of McCain. I hope it's not enough.
