Obama is President for four years, maybe eight.
The one person who meets all his criteria for the position is Michelle Obama.
She is highly popular and would not easily be rejcted by the Senate.
It would be a reflection of middle class life, a working first lady.

I can't take a shot at any of the choices. I know who I'd like to see as USSC Justice, but the past, in this area, has always held surprises, so I'll just wait and see who he nominates, then check the individual out, and will almost definately support the nominee. One thing is pretty well a given, this will not be a Thomas, Scalia or Alito. Thank God!

There is one compelling reason for Granholm to be nominated--she is term limited and the Michigan governor election is next year. The LT Governor would benefit from being incumbent, otherwise I don't see the Dems having anyone that can win and the Republicans will get the office.

I would add Stanford's Pam Karlan to the list. She'd be the first lesbian appointed. She would be an excellent justice, and Obama could reach out to the gay and lesbian community, a group he has ignored.
