Nation Poll

What question would you most like to see Gwen Ifill ask Sarah Palin at the VP debate?

  1. I bet jobs creation would be included in the answer

    Posted by ksakai at 09/29/2008

  2. Of course, to be fair, to give her every op to have her say, she should be asked all of the above.

And Biden should be asked to comment on her replies, if he wishes.

Just as she should be asked to comment on his 1st replies.

But let's not hold our breaths.

    Enjoy the popcorn.

  3. More specifically, I want to hear why any special appropriations are "above-board" funding for science -- the hermit crab sex and harbor seal DNA business. I'm in public health research. I'm sure my university has gone begging to our senators at some point. But the usual and legitimate funding route is through competitive peer review process of the pertinent agency. Study of hermit crab mating habits might give us important data about pollution or global warming . But we don't know because the project wasn't vetted properly.

  4. The dinosaur question (no matter how it was answered) would give voters the clearest idea of how far beyond the reality-based community Governor Palin really is. If she's going to be a flat-earther when speaking to select audiences, make her defend it in front of a mainstream audience.

  5. one of the toughest polls ever.

When one considers Sarah as possible presidential fodder, we must look at other accidental presidents. Harry Truman. For all his faults, historians and others agree that this man, with understandable missteps and faux pas, did one hell of a job, under the worst circumstances.

Gerald Ford. For all his experience in the House, his actions in pardoning Nixon, and taking apart any further investigations, led directly to the rebirth of the Neoconmen who currently infect and populate the Executive branch.

Sarah, given bushMcCain's health, history, and age, would be a disaster of biblical proportions. Hmm. Perhaps that is the plan. Damn.

  6. Dinosaur question absolutely because the others she can evade or finesse - dinosaurs is yes or no. "No" kills her with the base she was picked to attract, and "yes" appalls the handful of independents still considering McCain.

    Posted by lisaaug at 09/30/2008

  7. Barbie McBush should be asked where she and her running mate disagree with the Bush administration.

Posted by David James at 09/30/2008

  8. One additional question that Gwen might ask of Sarah Fey: A video of you showed you being blessed against witchcraft. Is there a lot of that going on in Alaska?

    Posted by JFKennedy at 09/30/2008

  9. Troopergate and Earmarks are the best topics, b/c those issues demonstrate her propensity for Bushesque lies and abuses of power. The dinosaur and Putin's airspace invasion questions are amusing, but why give her a chance to explain those issues away? I'm sure even she can do so by now.

  10. Earmarks....cuts into Maverick's main appeal to indies and paints him and her as bold-faced liars.

  11. I am very much interested in the coexistence of Dinosaurs and people. I heard she based on one of those doctored photos of a human footprint inside a dino footprint- that even the Evangelicals admitted to be a fake. I mean this is just obsurd. If all of her logical thinking is based on the wacked out news information she receives strictly from her Evangelical pastor- thanks but no thanks. I mean everyone has the right to their religion- but when you want to lead the FREE WORLD of the USA, then you have to learn to be secularly religious and seperate your religious beliefs from being thrust upon the rest of us. McCain had the audacity to compare her to Clinton relating experience... you Mrs. Palin are no Hillary Clinton and you surely are no Bill Clinton for that matter! Bill Clinton had a cognitive understanding of our country and our world- something she majorly if not completely lacks. Tonight should be interesting but the right wingers are already trying to find their excuse for why she made a fool of herself...again...whatever I think America has gotten a bit wiser- they will see through the shinnanigans of the Repugs.

  12. What do you see as the top 3 or 4 major challenges to the USA in the coming decade ??

    Posted by tucanofulano at 10/2/2008

  13. Katy Couric asked Palin to cite specific examples of how John McCain has pushed for more regulation in his 26 years in the Senate. Palin said she'd have to get back to Couric on that.

So Gwen, ask her again. She's had time to look it up!

  14. Dammit, ask her if she will support FULL ENFORCEMENT of the Humane Slaughter Law and the Animal Welfare Act!

    Posted by columbuscat at 10/2/2008

  15. If no followup questions are allowed, then she can easily slip & slide around most questions with a non-answer, and a SMILE!

    Posted by Fascinated at 10/2/2008

  16. I'll think about it and get back to ya later!

    Posted by agbfpmt at 10/2/2008

  17. Ms. Pelin, Do you believe the United States should torture its prisoners of war and do you think the United States should preemptively start wars?

    Posted by RichardLeigh at 10/2/2008

  18. I wouldn't ask a "gotcha" question, but I'd ask her to explain or clarify her philosophy of governing in a democratic society and what she thinks a qualification is for being VP.

    Posted by mamelodi at 10/2/2008

  19. columbuscat, more to the point ask her why she supports the blood sport of running down wolves and bears in Alaska from airplanes and then shooting the poor exhausted animals to death. Oh, and of course she should also explain why she felt it necessary to offer an additional bounty for the forepaws of the dead wolves. Remember that the folks in Alaska actually voted this blood sport down more than once, and she overroad them with a loop hole in the law. Sick, sick, sick.

  20. When and where is her pregnant daughter going to get married to that self-proclaimed fng redneck who does not want any kids and whether he is a belongs to any church.

    Posted by outrider at 10/2/2008

  21. Why can't ask our own questions???

Posted by ron cypert at 10/2/2008

  22. Please present the full story on that $40 billion gas pipe line. When it first came up, there was an entrepreneur that offered a plan that brought the gas down to the lower 48 states at zero cost to the public. Senator Stevens made certain that the only route to be considered was 100 % inside Alaska to the southern border of the state. If my memory is correct, that is a $40 billion "earmark". Tom Dawes

  23. "and also too" is guaranteed to be in the answer.
