Why should he do anything? We have nuclear weapons and we have used them. According to Jimmy Carter, Israel has 150 nukes. Other nations are going to seek nuclear weapons as long as the countries who have them act as if they have the right to bully the world. The only appropriate response is to seek denulearization across the board. lnh

In truth, there is probably no solution that will be effective. The regime IS going to develop (or already has) the bomb. The issue is IF he is going to use it, how will he deliver it. We can nutralize the missile option by "Continuing to Develop" anti-missile defenses and deploying them. You could potentially intercept cargo to prevent shipment to another entity but that is very volitile and will result in violent confrontation. In other words, it is going to get very nasty so prepare yourself.

Honestly, there is no real "effective" means of stopping this threat. Kim Jong Il is extremely paranoid of the United States, and believes we are planning to invade his nation (especially upon his death...a presumed point of weakness). Whatever we do, he will see as a threat, and will most likely react, be it by more agressive demonstrations (more testing) or through actual flexing of military muscles. Almost any agressive course of action by the United States will result in serious rebuke by the North Korean regime, leaving our hands tied.

Cutting off oil supplies to N. Korea would eventually trickle down to hurting the average person--who is already hurting.
