Nation Poll

What should Joe Lieberman's fate be?

  1. I will leave pragmatism to wiser heads than me. Lieberman deserves no less than being stripped of his committees and being pilloried for his disloyal behavior.

Even Zell Miller waited until he was retiring to go on his kooky odyssey. Joe did all of this as a sitting US Senator who caucused with the Democratic party. Sitting Democratic Senators are not likely to be forgiving in a caucus vote.

And well they shouldn't be. Politics is a rough business, Lieberman tried to play in both camps, attacked the current President-elect on the stump for a Republican candidate, and generally voted with the Republicans on most everything.

Joe never got over being challenged in his re-election by Ned Lamont and his sense of betrayal has colored his actions ever sense. The grassroots want him gone...and if that isn't enough...you don't see the President-elect intervening on a slightly chagrined Lieberman's behalf.

Let the Republicans inherit his massive ego and his elective headaches. I doubt he will see another term in Connecticut and he is too old to rehabilitate.

  2. From what I have read, he did not even do his job as the committee chair. He had the same abilities to challenge the Bush administration as Waxman(house of reps) did but he has done NOTHING as far as bringing charges against the Bush administration. Send him packing is has brought this on himself....

It is what it is. Sorry Joe but you did this to yourself.

  3. All I can see in my mind's eye is Joe Lieberman's smiling face behind John McCain in all so many rallies as lies and smears to villainize Obama ran rampant. Perhaps Joe Lieberman can move to Alaska and pal around with Palin. What an incredible disappointment Joe Lieberman became.

  5. This man is an embarrassment ! Our Party should expel him ASAP ... and strip him of his Chairmanship. Let him look to Senator McCain for cocktails, parties, BBQs and such. Be gone , Joe ...................... Roy E. Place, Major, USMCR (retired)
