Wilson's comment during Obama's speech took the focus off of healthcare and onto a somewhat deranged GOP back bencher. Instead of talking about merits of healthcare reform, media went after Wilson's two-word lie, "You lie!"

We need to focus on the language used to define the issue that he was railing about. Just are or aren't illegals going to be covered? There seems to be conflicting stories on the issue. If they are able to go to the emergency room for treatment one could say that they are covered. But that's a nuanced facet of the debate. Preventing them from accessing the emergency room at all would clearly define whether or not they get care, but who's going to take that draconian measure? It's a tough call, that one. But as far as any other health coverage they would qualify for, I believe the president has the facts on his side. Am I wrong on this?

Wilson just spoke the truth in a moment of passion - he shouldn't have but, hey... Actually, being a little more like the House of Commons would take some wind out of the pompus windbags that often speak in the chambers. It would certainly be more lively especially if they would serve beer when in session.

Joe wilson is a liar himself, the President should have call him out right then and there.Joe Wilson is a racist like most white people from the south. Look at who is at the rallies big fat old white men/women

Joe Wilson is the new "hero" of the wing nuts. Did everyone notice how he was so proud of his remark that he ran out of the room, as soon as the President's speech was finished? Those who have elevated him to the status of "hero" are just as pusillanimous - oops! I mean heroic - as he is. Yes it is quite nauseating. Now this is the story instead of the criminal lack of health care delivery in this nation. Does anyone else see the possibility of winger pre-planning?

It is hard to not connect the dots on Joe Wilson. Here is a man with a track record of supporting confederate flags, racially motivated policies, and bigoted ideas in his home state of South Carolina. Apparently, time has stood still since the Civil War in South Carolina politics. Hopefully, the Democrat war veteran running against him can muster the numbers to turn the page on South Carolinian politics. Time has passed bigoted, white, southern men by. Time to turn the page on an ugly history in the South.
