I really think President Obama did a phenomenal job when you consider he still has to deal with the gop.
They lost the majority, but they didn't lose their nastiness.

All the listed events are significant ... for better or worse. But I chose the stimulus plan as most significant because it could have the longest-term impact on more people than the others.

The stimulus is an encouraging start, but only a start.
The Afghan ramp-up is a discouraging move that we hope won't be the start of a Vietnam redux. But every indication so far is that it will be.
This may prove most significant to Obama as it will damn him to a one-term presidency like LBJ.

The stimulus, for sure. President Obama has done a lot of good in the first 100 days of his Presidency. That said, I'm still disturbed a few things he's done... and not done. (Refusal to prosecute the authors of torture and continuing a failed "war on terror" in Afghanistan, for example.)
I do have high hopes for the future of America now.

I chose the release of the torture memos because it says the most about this administration's sense of the relationship that should exist between the government and the government in a representative democracy and how information should flow between the two. It puts the brakes on what has been, at least, a decades long move away from "sunshine" and towards more imperial presidencies.
Additionally, it makes all those high-level hidden hands visible for posterity. And whether it happens on Obama's watch or not, our children and their children--or someone's children--will eventually condemn torture and human rights violations for what they are.
