Nation Poll

How Can Hillary Clinton solve her Bill problem?

  1. We do hope the voters won't buy a co-presidency. But they bought an invasion of Iraq & then reelected Cheney/Bush. And most believe that an unhit 3rd skyscraper collapsed on 9/11 because planes hit 2 other skyscrapers nearby. The electorate, alas, has proven itself infinitely malleable.

  2. Caroline Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy and Ted Kennedy made tears run down my face with their endorsement of Obama today.

  3. Perhaps beating the shit out of Obama in Florida will help solve her Bill problem. Now you can ask a question like "How is Obama going to solve his Kennedy problem?"

  4. I am deeply sorry that Edwards is leaving, as he is the best and most electable candidate, and no one else speaks for the middle and lower classes as he does. Why didn't the Nation endorse him and help him all you could, for the sake of being progressive? I don't understand why you can't see that this may cost us yet another election, and even if we "win", we get another DLC Demo or an image-rich but content light diversity candidate.

  5. We shall see if this WJC helps or hinders the campaign. The remarkable length of this Primary Season, and the incredible lack of definitive ideologies or visions make this one of the worst Primary Seasons I have ever witnessed. Like all things in politics, virtually anything can happen that will upset the carts of the candidates. The brightest light I've seen so far, is that the GOP has absolutely nothing, and for that, I am extremely thankful! Let's all push to get this nation back on track and a place where we can be truly Proud and Free.

  6. With the choices presented I do believe your Anti-Clinton is showing or maybe it is your Pro- Obama. Can't tell which. All I know is that if the Dems draft the 43rd person ELECTED President, it won't matter

  7. There hasn't been enough discussion of the troubling prospect of two families controlling the WH through four presidencies. This outcome would be incredibly corrosive to any democracy. Just look at our current president - the case in point of what happens when politicians are rewarded for their families and not their abilities.

  8. A person is smart...people are stupid. If Obama gets the nomination, this will be the first time in my life that I will be forced to vote Republican. I will NOT be responsible for putting another "...I can have a beer with him" candiate in the White House. The last 8 years have taught us that the "warm and fuzzy" doesn't work when you have to get the job done. I can't pay my bills with HOPE. Those bills get paid through my HARD WORK. When you hire someone to do a job you want to know that they have some experience, not that they hope to use your job as experience!!!

  9. I don't care if two families are ascendant. So what! It's moronic to simply want a different name, or to threaten to vote Repukeblickin just cuz Obama is OK to have a beer with. While the nation may not specifically endorse a Dumbocratick candidate, you can sure as hell believe this super-rag will endorse issues that are re-humanizing, caring, populist in an economic and democratic sense. So who brings these issues into the public domain deserve listening too, unless of course you' ld rather vote for a rabid God and Country idiot who has no sense of decorum about saber-rattling his self admiration at the Iranians, who would be all too willing to stage a showdown. The man never learned a thing during his years in Hanoi. He says, "I'll never surrender!" and yet, he did exactly that, to a Vietnamese peasant waving a hoe at his cojones. And had we never surrendered, he would still be there in Hanoi.

So I don't care about last names, or about having a suds with this person to not get my vote. Nickle and dime idiocy.

Just because the man flew strafing passes at rice paddies off of a carrier does not make him prescient or worth a vote or a non-vote. The man is dangerous. He has no common sense, no creative will to succeed.

And you believe Hillary is whole lot better?

It baffles me that you like her so much. Yeah, she's smart, I'll give her that. But every indication is that she'd behave in foreign policy as something akin to the Iron Lady, Maggy Thatcher.

And with Mark Penn in tow we'd be wise to suspect that she'd be just as coldblooded as Maggy in her dealings with labor unions and worker's rights issues.

  11. You should be able to justify those blatant asccusations. Thatcher was Ron Raygunz buddie, but not his poodle, more of a shared nobility with grace and decorum. I do suppose that Lady Clinton would afford a better relationship with Primo Brown, but the Brits are still imperialists within their realm. They haven't learned how to translate that into effective peacekeeping activities.

I mean, strafing passes is a neutral. If it engendered no real respect for military violence, and did not cultivate growth. There are a large number of Veterans for Obama, I guess, you can see their signs, probably Kerry's old network.

Lady Clinton should get to know Lady Borden, who has lived in Hanoi for many years.

  12. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22649149 about the polling market hit man, Penn

he did change old bills mind on the repukeblickin's welfare reform bill, that ended the old way and now we have another snafu, thanks for the ref,

so that means that he will be channelling President Hillary into following his pollster divinations, kind of like a court oracle

well, it do show the color of sentiment if a president should start paying real attention and maybe could even construct some real polls, like samples of policy issues, with several possible opinions to choose from, why, they could even host them right here!

is this going somewhere? i gotta try and proofread, what?

Excellent suggestion. That'd be really cool. And provide an entirely new On the Road experience for next generation :-)

Fine, as long as we rebuild most of the roads & bridges at the same time ... & keep them out of private ownership.

  15. It's ironic that I should read of a suggested new "wpa" (Works Progress Administration - a Keansian mechanism of FDR's New Deal) to increase the aesthetic appeal of many of the roadways of our country because just Monday I biked along a proto-type in Gainesville, Florida. Unfortunately, like in DeLillo's "White Noise" the surfeit of art subtracted from the overall quality, IMHO, not to mention the trash/waste of used spray cans, rollers, and paint containers bordering "the wall" on S.W. 34th Street.

Once again, balance is a requisite which, if not or poorly considered, causes chaotic ugliness, again, and as usual IMHO.
