As long as the left and Obama continue to reject the free-market, unemployment will continue going up and the more seats the Democrats will lose in 2010. Pretty simple.

I cannot post comments to the Nation, as when I exceeded your word limits, you erased my hard work, rather than give me the opportunity to shorten it. While the work of authorship was erased, I was really dubious about commenting what I intend to have published in a larger article. But I thank the "Nation" for revealing its True Character, and for not allowing me to perhaps spoil my copyright.

The further Right hey move, the more apt to tumble over, same thing goes the other way as well. The GOP is a shell of it's former self, desperate, and gambling on nothing more than fear. Without moderates, in either party, failure is the only answer, the "leadership" in the GOP should step down, and get back to a board with ideas. We need a two party system in this country, but I see a single party in the future and as Liberal as I am, I know that is not a good thing.

The 3 legged stool supporting core republican ideology has been toppled by reality.
1. SMALL GOVERNMENT: What republicans really mean by small government is weak government. The big money republicans throughout the country prefer a weak government so they can continue to, plunder, pollute, and exploit with impunity.
The fact is: A truly Democratic government is the only instrument available to ordinary people to put limits and controls on those who would plunder, pollute, and exploit.
Efforts to limit the power of the people, as expressed through their elected government, should be viewed as anti-democratic and treasonous to the principles set forth by the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.
2. LIMITED TAXATION: What drives the hatred of taxation by republicans is that wealth is power, and power in the hands of the people is deadly to those who covet power in order to set public policy so they can continue to plunder, pollute, and exploit. We need to TAX the greedy ones out of power.
3. STRONG DEFENCE: What republicans refer to as the need for a strong defence is really a cover for financing wars of aggression and imperialism around the world.
Our so called Department of Defence ( is really the Department of War and was called that until the late 1940's) has become the cash cow for war mongering defence contractors, munitions purveyors, and weapons developers.
Powerful corporate interests invested in worldwide plunder, pollution, and exploitation, use our military to secure their private profit and the American people have been awakened to that fact.
What sums up the republican party is the word: BOGUS
BOGUS VALUES
BOGUS SINCERITY
BOGUS PATRIATISM

Let's face it, even most liberals like me realize that Big Government sucks. We also know that Big Business sucks even more. And when Big Government is in bed with Big Business and does it's bidding around the world with a Big Military, whatcha got, friends, is FASCISM. Read Mussolini's definition of the word (which he invented) if you don't believe me. Oh, and I forgot the last thing fascism requires: state sponsored religion. I guess I can check that one off, too.
The Democrats are just as corrupt as the GOP, too, with reptiles like Ms. 'Boom Boom' Clinton and the rest of Obama's Israeli cabinet.
We're F^%$&d.
