Nation Poll

How should Senate Democrats deal with Rod Blagojevich?

  1. I do not vote Democrat, but, I think the Democrats should seat Roland Burris. Here's why; the Dems have a clear and overwhelming majority. They have an opportunity to show a more excellent form of governance compared to the Republicans style. They should seat the man. It's not like he's going to buck "the Party" line. Why stub their toe on this? It's the better way to move past "Blago." There are too many important issues to consider. Not good form.

  2. The Senate leadership should concede this round to Governor Blagojevich and seat Roland Burris as the Junior Senator from the State of Illinois. The not-so-Honorable Mr. Blagojevich will soon be impeached and quite probably convicted and removed from office. Mr. Burris can state something vague like, "I'm 71 years old and will of course consider stepping aside in 2010 and not run for re-election." (And in 2010 he can say he considered it, all right, and is running ... probably with a nasty primary and maybe with a Republican as the new Junior Senator.) (BTW: Is it on-topic to comment on a big-ass ad staring one in the face on this page? The one I'm getting says G. W. Bush's IQ is 125 and invites me to take an IQ test. Where the hell are these folks getting IQs for pols & celebs? Such test results are supposed to be confidential. Heaven forfend advertisers would violate confidentiality or make up IQs!)
