Nation Poll

What do you most want to see included in the goverment's Wall Street bailout plan?

  1. Just because Bernacke and Paulson sit now in the chairs of government doesn't mean they are thinking like government of the people, by the people, and for the people. They are thinking in the way they have always thought and about their life-long colleagues in the financial services and banking industries. There are plenty of other viewpoints and courses of action. "Congress, don't sell us out again", pleads the forlorn US citizen.

  2. Do not bail out Wall Street for the reasons expressed below. Remember The so called Federal Reserve is not Federal. It needs to be changed.

  3. The "bailout" must be done. People's first response is to let Wall Street die for their sins. But if the credit market freezes up everyone will get hurt. There will be massive job loses in the auto industry when people cannot get credit.

  4. Take time and get it right, and put emphasis on STOPPING INFLATION.

  5. While the tendancy is to blame Wallstreet for all this, it is a mistake to forget the genisus. When congress decreed that lending institutions must give people a home loan, who would not normally qualify, they setup the formula for disaster. The lending institutions started making huge profits while realestate values were increasing but what goes up in the market will, at some point go down. Couple this with personal greed plus the stupid "mark-to-market" requirement...to quote Pogo - "We have seen the enemy and it is us".

  6. Yes let the markets crash. Let the price of oil rise so people can't leave their homes. Bring on the next Great Depression. We have all been spoiled and it is time for a lot of suffering. Maybe we can all start living in caves with their natural geothermal warmth.
