I am a subscriber. What can I read at TheNation.com?
Both print and digital subscribers can access all content at TheNation.com, including podcasts and our archives dating back to 1865. To do so, you must create a username and password and log in to the site. If you are a subscriber, you can log in here or create a username and password here. You can also log in by clicking “Login” on the upper righthand corner of our site.

What is a digital subscription? How much does it cost?
We offer different types of subscriptions, ranging from a day pass (which provides 24 hours of digital access to TheNation.com, the app, our podcasts, and our archive) to a yearly print subscription (which includes unlimited digital access for the same period). Please note: Unlimited digital access is for subscribers only and will apply only to the time you’ve paid for. If you’d like to continue reading TheNation.com after that, you must renew your subscription. You can cancel at any time.

If you are not a subscriber, you can sign up for a year of digital access for as low as $24.95 here. Depending on how often you read The Nation, you might see personalized subscription offers at a discounted rate. See all subscription options here.

I do not want to subscribe. What can I read at TheNation.com?
All readers can access up to three (3) free articles within a 30-day period. The 30 days begin when you first visit our site. You can read the first article without taking any action. To access the remaining two articles, you need to sign up for our free weekly newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.

The Nation’s podcast pages and general information pages (including those concerning donations, subscriptions, and e-books) are available free to anyone and do not count toward the three-article limit. In addition, our editorial team publishes some free content.

If I read the same article a second time, does that count toward my free articles?
No, going back and reading an article more than once will not affect your free article count.

What if I am already signed up for your newsletter?
If you are already signed up for The Nation’s free weekly newsletter, our system will detect a duplicate request and ask you to listen to one of our podcasts instead. In addition, you can sign up as many times as you wish in order to access your free articles. You will not receive duplicate newsletters in your inbox.

What if I want to receive a different newsletter?
After signing up, all readers receive an e-mail that allows them to adjust their newsletter preferences or unsubscribe from the list entirely. You can also adjust your preferences by clicking “Update your e-mail preferences” at the bottom of any e-mail.

My username and password are not working. What should I do?
The Nation recently required all subscribers to create a new username and password. If you have not created a new username and password since April of 2015, please do so by registering your account here.

If you have created a new username and password but are still unable to log in, you may contact our customer service department by e-mailing [email protected] or by calling 1-800-333-8536.
