Deadlines

The Nation is published on Mondays, 47 times a year. The deadline for ad copy and placement is Wednesday, two weeks prior, at 3 PM Eastern time.

Specifications and Rates

CLASSIFIED RATES AND FREQUENCY DISCOUNTS: STANDARD $4.25/word, 15-word minimum ($63.75); PO boxes and telepone numbers count as two words.

1 to 3 insertions runs at the rate of $4.25 per word. A 15-word ad runs at the rate of $4.25 (per word) x 15 (words) = $63.75 per advertising insertion. Frequency discounts are provided for four or more insertions. PO boxes, telephone numbers and web addresses count as two words.

$210 for 50 words, $260 for 75 words, additional words (above 75) $2.25 each.

Classified

Type cannot be "styled." It will print in straight-line format with only the first few words bolded.

Personals

Advertisers pay an additional fee of $45 for Nation Box numbers, for 1-4 insertions. $50 for 5-10 insertions. $70 for 11-24 insertions. $100 for 15-47 insertions.

Logos

For an additional fee of $50 per insertion ($60 for color), we will print your logo and center the headline of your ad. The maximum size for a logo is 2.25" wide by 0.5" deep.

Payments

All classified ads must be prepaid with order. Make check or money order payable to The Nation. Payment must be made in US currency. Ads are not commissionable.

Recognized agencies earn a standard 15% discount. Discounts apply only within the contract year and must be negotiated in advance. It is understood that the advertiser and/or agency indemnifies the publisher against any claims or suits based on the contents of an advertisement. The publisher reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertising at any time. Publication of an advertisement constitutes final acceptance. The Nation has a strong presumption against censoring any advertisement.
