Cockburn can't honestly believe that the petite bourgoisie's problem is Democrats. Their problem is that the proletariat's wages have been decimated by economic policies primarily pushed by the GOP in behalf of their wealthy contributors. Small businesses notoriously hire undocumented or part-time workers, for whom they contribute little or nothing in benefits.

Maybe he thinks there shouldn't be building codes or safety inspections? Or maybe he refuses to acknowledge the effects of "free trade" and, yes, illegal immigration on the wages of the proletariat.

Come to think of it, I've never known him to object to either.
