FYI, there was research done in the late 1990s that used age-adjusted rates for imprisonment in studying the Hispanic immigrant crime issue. Unz is not the first to do it. See Hagan and Palloni (1999) in the journal Social Problems. Of course, the outlet for this article is academia, so the point still holds true that the information isn't widely disseminated.
