This makes a lot of sense. Killing civilians while we play whack-a-mole with a growing number of insurgents seems like a sure-fire path to escalation. Escalation will inevitably turn more Afghanis against us.

Intelligence on the ground along with electronic spying and eavesdropping is a better method to enhance our security and can be replicated in other places as needed. We should also invest in cleaning up corruption in the Afghan central government to earn the people's trust.

Military escalation plays into the hands of those within our own government who love to spend cash with military contractors.
