I was quite surprised by the depth of feeling following Obama's victory. I didn't expect to see Jesse Jackson Sr. in tears, but, of course Obama's victory was his victory too. No doubt the Rev. Jackson was thinking of all the people who died in the struggle for civil rights and only got to see a distant victory from the mountain. I really hope, for their sake, and the nation's, that the Obama administration is a success. It has taken such a very long time to get here.
