I wholeheartedly agree with this column about the American press. The Washington Post is especially despicable in this regard as it purports to be an establishment liberal paper that claims to be objective. The NY Times is better but, as you say, William Kristol stinks up the editorial page. I myself am a refugee from being a twenty-five-year reader of the Wall Street Journal, which, despite its toxic editorial pages, had very reliable straight newspages. However, once Rupert Murdoch took it over and began to impose his poisonous malignancy on its pages, I bailed out. Being a financial professional, I migrated to the US edition of the Brit-oriented Financial Times, which I am very happy reading, inasmuch as I have a UK background anyway. Isn't it ironic that we have to read foreign newspapers to find out what is really going on in this country?
