Join Andy Worthington, author of The Guantánamo Files and co-director (with filmmaker Polly Nash) for a screening of this new documentary, followed by Q&A. Based on the stories of three particular prisoners, the film focuses on how the Bush administration turned its back on domestic and international laws, how prisoners were rounded up in Afghanistan and Pakistan without adequate screening (often for bounty payments), and why some of these men may have been in Afghanistan or Pakistan for reasons unconnected with militancy or terrorism. North Berkeley Senior Center, 1901 Hearst Avenue. More information online, or call 818-480-1860.
