In observance of Arkansas Heritage Month, Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas will host a forum dealing with the politics surrounding public school integration in Arkansas and its continuing effects. Loeb Associate Professor of the Social Sciences, on "Latin America's Left Turn: Causes and Implications." Steven Levitsky's primary areas of research include political parties, informal institutions and political regimes and regime change in Latin America. He is the author of Transforming Labor-Based Parties in Latin America: Argentine Peronism in Comparative Perspective (2003), and is currently engaged in research on the emergence and trajectories of competitive authoritarian regimes in Africa, Central Europe, Latin America and the former Soviet Union. "An Alternative Literary Festival," with a full weekend of events.
