    American Constitution Society’s Nashville Chapter presents “Executed on a Technicality: Lethal Injustice on America's Death Row,” featuring David R. Dow, University Distinguished Professor, University of Houston Law Center. This event will take place at the Office of the Federal Public Defender, 810 Broadway. This event has been approved for 1.0 hour of CLE credit. Light appetizers and beverages will be served. RSVP. The entrance to the Office of the Federal Defender is on Ninth Avenue, and the event will be held in the first floor conference room.

  3. 'Malcolm X Speaks': Discussion Group

    The fiery speeches of Malcolm X, 1960s militant agitator for black liberation, are the focus of a five-week roundtable study. Selections will be made from a collection of oratory from the last eight months of his life including discussions on voting, elections and the betrayal of the Democratic Party; racism and the relationship of blacks and whites; the right to self-defense vs. non-violence; capitalism and "dollarism"; and many other issues of relevance to today. The public is invited to attend any one session or all five. Free. Snacks are served at 7pm for a $5 donation. Sponsored by Radical Women and the Freedom Socialist Party.
