Please join us for an evening with Hanan Awwad, a Palestinian poet and President of the Palestine Branch of Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. Awwad was also instrumental in creating a Palestine Centre of PEN, the international writers' union. Dr. Awwad is a fervent advocate of Palestinian independence as well as a scholar, writer and poet. The evening’s $30 ticket includes a post-show reception. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Girls for Gender Equity, an organization located in BedStuy Brooklyn that works to empower young girls and build leadership skills. Standing Clear is an ode to NYC’s beloved subway, presented by the theater company Coffee Cup. The event takes place at The Access Theater (380 Broadway on the 4th floor). More info online.
