Film Park Slope at Congregation Beth Elohim is a monthly film series dedicated to promoting socially conscious cinema through screenings, panels and filmmaker/audience dialogue. Held on Sunday evenings, screenings are hosted by filmmakers and followed by Q&A sessions (along with a little wine and cheese from favorite neighborhood providers). In October we're showing The Nazi Officer's Wife. Director Liz Garbus will join us afterwards to discuss the film and Edith Hahn Beer 's journey from idealistic Jewish law student to enslaved prisoner of war to disguised German Hausfrau to empowered judge in post-war Germany. 274 Garfield Place, in the Rotunda.
