Obama Is Fired Up About Healthcare

Nation contributor Ari Melber went on MSNBC Tuesday to discuss Obama's most recent speech on healthcare to the AFL-CIO in Pittsburgh. Melber claims this speech brought out a populist Obama, one who is eager to engage with the mainstream American public and gain their support for his healthcare plan. The crowd's enthusiasm might prove helpful in gaining traction with independents and swing voters, who could be swayed by the positive rhetoric of the left at a time when the right is going increasingly negative. Obama also took the opportunity to be critical of the rich insurance companies, who benefit immensely from the current healthcare system while many of our citizens are struggling.
