Stephen F. Cohen, professor of Russian and Slavic studies and history at New York University, talks about missed opportunities in US-Russian relations on MSNBC's Morning Joe. How and why did the US get itself into a new cold war with Russia? Cohen answers these and other questions on the show. As he presents his new book, Soviet Fates and Lost Alternatives: From Stalinism to the New Cold War, he says: "Some people think that Russians are incapable of democracy. Russian people are fully capable; it's the Russian elite who are incapable of democracy."
