GOP Struggles to Smear Obama on Iran

By The Rachel Maddow Show

The Nation's Washington editor, Chris Hayes, analyzes the Republican response to the popular protests in Iran. Some, like Senator John McCain, have argued for a more aggressive response by the Obama administration, while others, like Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan and Pat Buchanan, have replied that Obama's rhetoric is just right. Hayes discusses the mythology of Reagan, neoconservative ideology, and the lack of a coherent response to Obama by the Republican party.
