After a well-deserved week off, Jon Stewart returns to discover that President Obama has "tapped Federal Appeals Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor" ...as his highly qualified first nominee for the Supreme Court. Oh.

Stewart goes on to review the cable news treatment of her nomination: "Well, that's television coverage--it's inherently superficial," he notes before pulling out the Time magazine headlined "Latina Justice." Is anyone capable of having a serious discussion about her judicial qualifications? Perhaps The Daily Show's Aasif Mandvi? Perhaps not.
