Stephen Colbert sat by as gay rights were confirmed in Iowa and Vermont, but now that Governor David Paterson has introduced legislation to legalize gay marriage in his homestate of New York, he has formed the Colbert Coalition to defend the "traditional definition of marriage." Taking his cues from the parody-inducing "Gathering Storm" ad put out by the National Organization for Marriage, Stephan Colbert promises he "won't let them make you retroactively gay." Phew.
