Following the passage of California's Proposition 8 banning gay marriage investigations began into the links between the Mormon Church and the campaign. While the church reported a small sum in actual donations to the Fair Political Practices office, the American News Project discovered video and text from elders of the church supporting a much broader and expensive campaign in support of the proposition. The video includes ANP's findings and studies their implications for the separation of church and state and the continued tax-exempt status for the church.
