Jon Stewart interviewed former Arkansas governor and presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee on the Daily Show this week about his take on the philosophical foundations of social conservatism--specifically Conservative opposition to gay marriage. Stewart questioned Huckabee on his insistence that homosexuality is a choice, and wondered why a party that exalts the notion of a meritocracy would be opposed to gay marriage. After all, he said, "a loving gay family with a secure financial background beats the hell out of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline."
