Jon Stewart Slams Anti-Gay Marriage Prop 8

On Monday night, Jon Stewart informed Sonja Eddings Brown -- a Proposition 8 supporter who had appeared on Bill O'Reilly and claimed she isn't against gay people, just gay marriage -- that "Your gay friends hate you." Proposition 8, an initiative that would rewrite the constitution to eliminate the rights of same-sex couples to marry, has garnered national attention as millions of dollars have been poured into television advertising. One donor, the Mormon Church, gave $25 million to ensure the measure passes. Stewart proceeded to provide the audience with a "Mormon fun fact": Mormons founded the state of Utah because America refused to tolerate the way that Mormons got married. "Because if there is one value that the Mormon Church has always held dear," Stewart continued, "it's that marriage must be between one man and..."
