A Robertson Republican

deadline poet

(A reprise of the Gilbert and Sullivan solo by George W. Bush, first heard during the 2000 primary campaign)

Pat Robertson would off Chávez; he says it's quick and saves us dough.
Commandments say "Thou shalt not kill," but Pat thinks that's not always so.
I owe him much: He smeared McCain when my campaign was almost toast.
The wacko crowd that follows him we call our base; I need them most.
So criticizing Pat by me is something that will not be done.
I am, when all is said and done, a Robertson Republican.

CHORUS
He is, when all is said and done, a Robertson Republican.
