David Moore

David W. Moore is the author of How to Steal an Election: The Inside Story of How George Bush's Brother and Fox Network Miscalled the 2000 Election and Changed the Course of History. A full-time writer and polling consultant, he worked for the Gallup poll from 1993 until 2006, first as managing editor and then as senior editor. Prior to joining Gallup, he was a professor of political science at the University of New Hampshire, where he taught from 1972 to 1993. He was director of the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, which he founded in 1975.

Moore recently completed his second term on the governing council of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). He is also the author of The Superpollsters: How They Measure and Manipulate Public Opinion in America. He has published numerous articles in academic journals, newspapers, books and magazines, including Public Opinion Quarterly, the New York Times, Foreign Policy, the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, Public Perspective and the Boston Globe. He lives in New Hampshire.
