The Ten Minute Activist Easy Ways to Take Back the Planet

Take a Trip on the Wild Side

If you like your coffee weak, your stories long-winded, and your fellow passengers out of a David Lynch movie, and you want to reduce your greenhouse gas emissions while traveling, youll love the adventure served up diner-fresh aboard every Greyhound Bus. Often for less than the admission to the circus!

Of course, Greyhound is not the only animal on the road. There's also the Green Tortoise, for a crunchier ride. Partly fueled by patchouli fumes, the Green Tortoise bus line runs from Alaska to the Yucatan. Best of all, you can stretch out on their bunks while traveling at night and arrive refreshed at your destination in the morning.

For those partial to more grandeur, more space, and better toilets, there's nothing like train travel. Still chugging around the bend, trains continue to roll throughout North America. Not bound by the interstate, you can sit back with a drink in the café car and watch the road-free scenery pass by.

Whether by train or bus, getting there is half the fun. For your next vacation, garage the car and join the party.
