Bill Clinton Touts Obama's Organizing & Internet Prowess

posted by Ari Melber on 10/30/2008 @ 01:01am

Former President Bill Clinton had plenty of love for Barack Obama on Wednesday night, but as The Nation's Net movement correspondent, the emphasis on Obama's Internet prowess really caught my ear.

Obama's web team liked it, too, apparently. This short clip of Clinton's "rousing praise" for Obama's qualifications as chief executive was uploaded to Obama's official YouTube within hours of the rally:

Given his self-perceived intellect (versus the low actual one)...

I'm betting FRANKGRITS is planning on riding out the next 5 days and either-

    (A) returning to gloat if McCain somehow pulls it out.

    (B) trying to re-ingratiate himself with the "TNers", by doing his Fonzie impersonation ("I was wrrrrr...I was wrrrroon.....I was wrrrrronnnnn..." "You were wrong, FRANK?" "Yeah, that word!") and telling us we MUST "let bygones be bygones" and forgive him.

Then he starts in with various HSUBian fantasies by which Biden steps down before 2012 and Obama "very smartly" picks Hillary as his new Veep...and she gets to run in 2016 as incumbent.

    heheh

Well thank you King Crab, that's a wonderful idea. The military would definately benefit from my ICU experience. As a matter of fact, I propose that since most hospitals lose money regarding critical care, they should drop those programs entirely.

And if you want to speak on intelligence, how about this...the entire medical community (across the nation) takes a two week vacation and let you more "intelligent" beings take our places while we're gone?

Could be. If Senator Obama's plans for "universal healthcare" is implemented, many hospitals who serve the public will have to cut or curtail some of the more expensive services/ expenditures, that also includes overhead expenses to pay medical staff. The new gov't healthcare insurance will force caps on everything and act just like Medicaid and Medicare.

Me? I won't have to worry too much. I can either outsource my services and go into private duty or work in a private hospital.

Oh God let's not play that game of making wild predictions based on zero information. Right now there are general practice doctors in public hospitals who are requiring their patients to pay an extra 4500 dollars a year person to see them because insurance companies don't pay these doctors. So right now the system is not even decent. Sure I MIGHT be able to get an emergency procedure I need if my insurance company deems it necessary but if I have cancer it may go completely unnoticed because doctors don't want to run more expensive tests because they don't know if they will ever see their money from the insurance companies.

You have been under the yoke of ChimpCo for 8 years, you should have lots of practice combining the 2.

I heard about a new cell phone, called The Gerbil. The ringtones are quiet, but multiple vibrating options abound. Brings new meaning to "Call me!"

You're absolutely right. But, this isn't a wild prediction. This is what I know. When you are put on Medicare or Medicaid, there is a price cap on how much the govt will pay out. If you max out, you will have to pay for any overages and if the patient is poor, the hospital has to absorb to remaining cost.

The same model applies to Obama's healthcare plan. It's a "third" insurance plan that's all. He says everyone will be able to "buy" into the govt plan. There may not be any deductiables, but you will pay a co-pay.

You will also have to include the 77 million baby boomers who will be retiring and no longer paying into the system. Many of them won't qualify for Medicare or Medicaid because of income reasons, which means you will have to pick up the additional cost. The system will be under tremendous strain.

    Posted by ACook at 10/30/2008 @ 2:36pm

  34. Acook, CCC: I have a somewhat similar story. Southwest Hospital just closed down their ER due to money problems. They said they instead open up a center to treat minor things(sorry, couldn't think of a better word).

    Posted by k330k at 10/30/2008 @ 3:09pm

  35. I meant Southwest Hospital in Atlanta. They've had money problems before and had to close down entirely. Of course closing an ICU would be much more detrimental to the surrounding community.

No you don't KNOW this because he has said before that his plan won't work like Medicare/Medicaid. So what you are doing is guessing based on other plans. So far he has said it would be like the same health plan himself and other Senators get. So you don't actually KNOW anything about the plan he is going to institute you are just guessing off of the already broken Medicare/Medicaid system.

  38. Tax the profits of the Fast Food Vendors that are profiting from peddling their poison "food" on the population.

Tax the Oil and Power Companies that use fossil fuels that cause untold health problems and make enormous profits and use a higher percentage of the commons than anyone else.

Tax the vampires in the health care system and drug companies that make enormous profits from the suffering of the people.

Tax the rich who rip off average Americans with their criminal activities in the money market.

Then redirect that money towards healthcare, education, infrastructure and green industry for job creation.

Make the bastards who have profited from and brought the middle class to it's knees pay out the nose for the presumption that it is they who rule. And not the people who actually do something.

    Power to the Middle Class!
