On September 20 and 21, I attended services at the church Sarah Palin belonged to since she was an adolescent, the Wasilla Assembly of God. Though Palin officially left the church in 2002, she is listed on its website as "a friend," and spoke there as recently as June 8 of this year.
I went specifically to see a pastor visiting from Kiambu, Kenya named Thomas Muthee. Muthee gained fame within Pentecostal circles by claiming that he defeated a local witch, Mama Jane, in a great spiritual battle, thus liberating his town from sin and opening its people to the spirit of Jesus.
Muthee's mounting stardom took him to Wasilla Assembly of God in May, 2005, where he prayed over Palin and called upon Jesus to propel her into the governor's mansion -- and beyond. Muthee also implored Jesus to protect Palin from "the spirit of witchcraft." The video archive of that startling sermon was scrubbed from Wasilla Assembly of God's website, but now it has reappeared.
The Youtube version is below (Palin appears after about 7:30):
Since Palin was nominated as vice president, Wasilla Assembly of God has taken a draconian line with reporters. The church now forbids members of the media from filming, taking notes, or bringing voice recorders to its services. I was able to record Muthee's recent sermons only by deploying an array of tiny cameras and hidden microphones. Though the quality and comprehensiveness of my footage was severely compromised by the church's closed door policy to the press, I was not going to be deterred.
By the end of the second day of Muthee's sermons, the church had been tipped off about me, the liberal media member in its midst. An associate pastor told me he had received an email from an anonymous source warning him about me. When I tried to interview members of the congregation in the church parking lot, my questions were either met with silence or open hostility. I strongly suspect the McCain campaign has mobilized the Wasilla Assembly of God against perceived threats from the media.
But they hardly needed encouragement. On the first night of services, Muthee implored his audience to wage "spiritual warfare" against "the enemy." As I filmed, a nervous church staffer approached from behind and told me to put my camera away. I acceded to his demand, but as Muthee urged the church to crush "the python spirit" of the unbeliever enemies by stomping on their necks, I pulled out a smaller camera and filmed from a more discreet position. Now, church members were in deep prayer, speaking in tongues and raising their hands. Muthee exclaimed, "We come against the spirit of witchcraft! We come against the python spirits!" Then, a local pastor took the mic from Muthee and added, "We stomp on the heads of the enemy!"
Behind the Christian right's enthusiasm for Palin's conservative credentials is a visceral sense that that she has come from them, not to them. Some right-wing evangelicals even believe she has messianic potential. As former Christian Broadcasting Network vice president Jim Bramlett wrote, "Sarah is that standard God has raised up to stop the flood. She has the anointing."
The Christian right's analysis is accurate to a certain degree. While Palin may not be The One, she is certainly one of them. Her social policy views, from her rejection of scientific evidence on global warming to her opposition to publicly funding emergency contraception for rape victims, are explicitly influenced by the sectarian theology she has subscribed to since she was a teenager. There is no better evidence of the depth of Palin's radical convictions than her startling encounter with the witch-hunter, Bishop Muthee.
Next week, I will post an exclusive video documentary here that will shed further light on Palin's relationship with Muthee and the religious right in Alaska. Stay tuned.

It's no hype to call this video encounter startling, between a witch exorcist & the divine Sarah.
But it's probably far too demanding & unreasonable to expect the MSM to cover it for a second.
Perhaps Bill Maher will give it a shot.
Meanwhile, thanks, Max, this is truly a great holy shit story. Really looking forward to the doc next week.

The Good Preacher had better get to the next RNC gathering so that he can exorcise the poor sheep from their spell of enchantment cast by Palin Herself. As with many right wing Plans, Muthee's appears to have backfired.

Please send this to your friends and family!
RFK, Jr.: "Let me tell you about one other of these scams people should know about. If you're a newly registered voter - and of course the Democrats have done these gigantic registration drives - 12 million people on registration - if you're a new voter you MUST include your license or some other state I.D. when you come to vote. What that means is that if you're a college kid (and college kids now - they're sending in absentee ballots - they're not going to the voting place, they do everything online or they do everything remotely - they don't dream of going to the precinct house voting on election day and waiting in a long line) so if they send in the absentee ballot and they don't include a color copy of their license their vote is going to be thrown into a trash can. And none of these people know this because you have had to read the law in order to know it. So there is no notification for when you fill out your registration form, so all of those 12 million people that the Democrats have registered: those ballots are going to be just thrown out.

National Public Radio Blogs 17 March 2008 -- http:// www.npr.org/ blogs/news/2008/01/ barack_obama_and_the_influence.html
'...Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen, however, is not so crazy about Wright's message. He writes that in 1982 Wright founded Trumpet Newsmagazine; his daughters serve as publisher and executive editor. And Cohen takes exception to the magazine's naming of Louis Farrakhan as the winner of the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award, saying he was a man who "truly epitomized greatness."
Cohen, however, believes that Farrakhan "epitomizes racism" for most Americans. He adds that he sees nothing in Obama's record that supports anti-Semitism of any kind, or agrees with the award given to Farrakhan. But praise for an "anti-Semitic demagogue is not a minor difference or an intrachurch issue."
"The Obama camp takes the view that its candidate, now that he has been told about the award, is under no obligation to speak out on the Farrakhan matter," writes Cohen. "It was not Obama's church that made the award but a magazine. This is a distinction without much of a difference. And given who the parishioner is, the obligation to speak out is all the greater. He could be the next American president. Where is his sense of outrage?"...'

"No, the democrats are doing nothing to stop it. In New Jersey, which is a swing state, 300,000 voters in New Jersey were just sent letters saying that they are now ineligible to vote. New jersey is nice enough to actually notify them--most states will not even notify them. And New Jersey intends to send out 870,000 letters so that is three quarters of a million people off the voting rolls in a state that could decide this vote by 50,000 votes. And these are democrats that are being pushed off the rolls."

CHRONOLOGY OF MORATORIA ON OFFSHORE DRILLING
FROM 1981 THROUGH 1986, THE SENATE WAS CONTROLLED BY A REPUBLICAN MAJORITY, THE HOUSE HAD A DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY, AND REPUBLICAN RONALD REAGAN WAS PRESIDENT. IT WAS DURING THIS TIME THAT THE FIRST MORATORIA ON OIL AND GAS LEASING WERE PUT IN PLACE.
Posted by frosty zoom at 09/24/2008 @ 10:26am
In 1985, Donald Hodel replaced James Watt as Secretary of the Interior. Secretary Hodel began negotiating an agreement with Congress to prohibit leases off many coastal areas in exchange for the authority to lease tracts in a few areas. Hodel began negotiating with the California Delegation. Republican Congressman Bill Lowery of San Diego, a member of the Appropriations Committee, was a leading advocate for continuing the moratorium on leases off Southern California throughout his Congressional career.
Posted by frosty zoom at 09/24/2008 @ 10:26am
In June 1990, PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH announced a 10-year moratorium on drilling off California, Florida, and New England. The Interior Appropriations Act for FY 1991 included one-year bans on leases for areas not covered in Bush's order, including BRISTOL BAY IN ALASKA, the Florida Panhandle, and the Atlantic from New Jersey to Maryland.
Posted by frosty zoom at 09/24/2008 @ 10:26am
Interior Secretary Gale Norton also proposed to pay the Collier family $120 million to relinquish mineral rights in the Everglades, and allow the Colliers to take a $350 million tax deduction. The Colliers said the mineral rights were worth $472 million, but the National Park Services estimated they were worth $20 million and the Inspector General of the Department of Interior estimated they were worth no more than $43 million. Congress blocked the deal, but the Colliers continue to threaten to drill in the Everglades in order to try to force the government to buy them out.

The vitriol of the left towards christianity is becoming ubelievable. I am forwarding this thread on to a number of pastors and other christians so they will finally realize what I have been sharing with them.
This hatred of Christians under the guise of so-called liberalism is nothing but a anti-religious freedom bigotry.
I won't dignify Blumenthals tape by watching it, but the words he posted are no different from that which is conducted in 10's of thousands of churches every week in the US.
Not that it will matter one iota in educating this bigotry here, but the witchcraft described is extremely active in the US and has nothing to do with images of Salem witch hunting. It's not even referring to Wiccan's are anything similar. But as I said, you aren't interested in truth, just looking for another reason to exhibit bigotry towards Christianity.
Posted by lvliberty1 at 09/24/2008 @ 09:50am

Palin's nomination made me think, because she's a go getter, also not part of the current BB generation currently ruining the country.(NOT a freudian slip there) The idea of her coming out of left field, and then perhaps suddenly finding herself President due to circumstance is so reminicent of 1900, and that appealed to my sense of historical milestones (not that I would wish anything like death on anyone)
Plus, lets face it, we havn't had a hottie in and around the White House since Jackie Kennedy! :)

"But as I said, you aren't interested in truth, just looking for another reason to exhibit bigotry towards Christianity."

Actually, my interest in the truth is exactly why I "exhibit bigotry" towards christianity. If you assert your beliefs without evidence, I can just as easily dismiss them without evidence. The only reason abstinence education is a political issue is because of fundamentalist christianity. Given all of the real world evidence about teens and sex and the damage caused by this approach to their education regarding it should be the focal point. Not whether or not premarital or safe sexual practices will send its participants to a fiery prison.

Obama's family is from Nyang'oma Kogelo, a village in the Nyanza Province in Kenya. Palin's preacher, Thomas Muthee, is from Kiambu, a town in the Central Province. Only the Rift valley separates them. Coincidence? I think not. Remember, Obama's mother was from Wichita. Notice how similar the words "Wichita" and "Witch" are? Pretty spooky. And didn't Obama visit his family in Kenya?

The second principle is that healthy economic growth must continue. Only by saving energy can we maintain our standard of living and keep our people at work. An effective conservation program will create hundreds of thousands of new jobs.

My cousin is a member of this church in Illinois. Her group became fanatics after learning I had converted to Judaism. While other Jews are considered favorites for conversion to professing Jesus, I was the worst of the worst - a person who had officially renounced Jesus as my lord and saviour.
They did rituals against my long deceased parents as well as me. They were obsessed with getting the Christian names of my parents.
This is the first time I have had proof of the kind of rituals they had against my parents and me. While I can intellectualize about this series of events, it is always unsettling in my memory bank. The very idea that anyone in this group, which I consider a cult, could become president is horrifying to the max.
To my cousin God was a huge Jesus floating in the sky.
In any case I find anyone who has a view that they have found the only way to God frightening, particularly in an official capacity. Any method to get my parents names was considered ethical. My cousin only knew their nicknames. My cousin was focused on the ends and the means were inconsequential.
This video at least gives an inking of Sarah Palin and her specific religious practices.
I do remember my father giving me all his cousins when I was four. He said he had found cousins to be the most useless category in the world. At least I have one humorous aspect of this pattern.

The third principle is that we must protect the environment. Our energy problems have the same cause as our environmental problems -- wasteful use of resources. Conservation helps us solve both at once.

The sixth principle, and the cornerstone of our policy, is to reduce the demand through conservation. Our emphasis on conservation is a clear difference between this plan and others which merely encouraged crash production efforts. Conservation is the quickest, cheapest, most practical source of energy. Conservation is the only way we can buy a barrel of oil for a few dollars. It costs about $13 to waste it.

Jimmy Carter put solar panels on the White House roof, and offered tax credits to anyone who purchased solar energy systems. It's the same with mine. What my priest told the congreagtin was that if someone is a Christian, there'll be no need to exclasim, "I'm a Christian!" People will be able to see that just by the words you speak and the deeds you do. Besides, during the early days of the church, women were characterized as witches if they were considered a threat to the church hierarchy. Atleast that's what I learned from the History channel. But hey, what do they know? They only used facts gathered from research and expert theologians and historians.

If a pentacostal/literalist Christian gets snake bit ON PURPOSE...that's "tempting God" and God allows you to die from the venom.
If a pentacostal/literalist Christian gets snake bit BY ACCIDENT and dies....that's "God's plan".
If they happen to survive...it "proves that Matthew 16:18 is true".
(Oddly, the odds of "God's plan" versus "proves Matthew 16:18 is true" are nearly the same in a non-believer....oddly.)

It's the same "oddity" that gets them their claim that "Prayer healed his cancer".
Take a 5% remission rate for cancer.
Take 20 people with terminal cancer.
5% would leave one alive.
Now, if that ONE claims that he was "prayed over" or "prayed fervently"...he gets to claim "God cured my cancer!"
The dead 19 may have prayed equally as hard, or been prayed over equally as hard...but they're dead and it was "God's will" if anybody asks.
Neat, huh? "Just so happens" that the one guy who survived cancer was "cured by God"...and is ALIVE to tell us.
