DeLay's Not Dead

posted by Ari Berman on 07/20/2007 @ 2:47pm

Tom DeLay is not dead. In Max Blumenthal's new video he appears at the College Republicans annual convention, offering an unconventional solution to America's illegal immigration problem: ban abortion.

"If you don't believe abortion doesn't affect you," DeLay told the youngsters, "I contend it affects you in immigration. If we had those 40 million children who were killed over the last 30 years, we wouldn't need the illegal immigrants to fill the jobs that they are doing today." He pauses awkwardly, before offering this gem: "Think about it."

Our own David Corn also ran into DeLay this week. Corn asked DeLay what he was up to. Trying to be the "Democrats worst nightmare," he answered. Didn't DeLay already have that gig?

He also said he wanted his old nemesis Newt Gingrich to run for president. That's just the boost Newt needs.

  1. What a freak show this man is. He's probably an embarassment to honorable exterminators everywhere.

  2. Sure Delay's an idiot...

    but he's a FREE idiot.

Wasn't Abramoff-gate supposed to put ol' "Bugsy" in the pokey?

  3. Banning abortion wouldn't end illegal immigration? Yeah, right. Americans would do the jobs the illegals do if they were paid enough. But that's the problem: It's much more profitable to pay illegals a fraction of what you would have to pay American citizens, plus there's no benefits, labor laws, or anything else that gets in the way of excessive profits. (Plus, much of the money illegals earn leaves the US economy for destinations down south.)

  5. Speaking of great names of the Republican party, I heard that Tom Foley was on the prowl at the High School Republicans annual convention.

  6. I would hope that the congresscritter from Florida would have sense enough to avoid high schools after what happened. Mark Foley is a waste of space.

As for DeLay, I think the case against him is pending. Another way to say it, his lawyers are practicing the art of delay.

  7. I think Delay needs to be exterminated. No wonder he quit that business....he was tired of killing his own kind. What a stupid, no brain havin, sweat shop makin, barbecue eatin jackass Delay is. Yes, why isn't he in jail with Abramoff? Delay epitimizes the typical conservative repub. A crook through and through posing as a good, Christian, family type with high morals.

  8. Yeah, that's it-end abortion and we'll have enough laborors to put in labor camps just like in Saipan, an American territory where tom Devilay prevented applying American labor laws at the behest of manufacturers through jack abramoff. And it gets worse-the girls in the camps are FORCED to have ABORTIONS. So this sorry excuse for a Christian is nothing but another conservative hypocrite.
