Not About Issues

posted by Christopher Hayes on 09/02/2008 @ 5:13pm

Yesterday, I quoted Obama's contention in his speech that, Republicans are attempting to "make a big election about small things."

Well, today the McCain campaign manager admitted it!:

"This election is not about issues," said Davis. "This election is about a composite view of what people take away from these candidates."

No kidding. Look, the GOP can't run on the issues, because for the most part their agenda is manifestly unpopular. So I empathize with Davis' position, but still kind of surprised he just came out and said it.
