"I will tell you that there won't be any corporate considerations. No earnings per share issues, No worries about advertisers and what they might think." Okay, you probably think these are lines from a recent Nation editorial or Bill Moyers' latest speech.
It's actually Mark Cuban blogging about his negotiations with Dan Rather to launch a program on HDNet, his high-definition cable channel that reaches about 3 million homes. (Later this week, Rather will announce that he's joining Cuban's channel--launching "Dan Rather Presents" this October. ) Cuban also owns HDfilms production company.
At a time when CBS News is run by "by bean counters and profiteers with no interest in serious news," as Moyers recently put it, the billionaire entrepreneur and owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball franchise seems ready to revive public interest journalism.
At a time when newspapers and traditional media seem clueless about their future, Cuban sees opportunity. In a recent post on his popular blog, Cuban lamented what he calls the loss of spine and guts in mainstream journalism. "Young people aren't turning away from mainstream media because they don't care about current events," he writes, "but because the media don't know how to connect with them."
(Cuban also likes to boast that HDNet News is working to hire "the young and the restless to go out and produce stories that matter. Stories that have payoff." )
Echoing any number of Nation editors/writers, Cuban adds, "Even for a 21-year old, it's not just about Paris Hilton, Bradgelina and the latest rap feud. Kids want to learn. They want to know. Journalism matters....We will produce news reports that matter to people of all ages."
I think he's one of the the most interesting media moguls around. What's appealing is that Cuban isn't just talking the talk. As Dan Rather might say, this guy "walks the walk"--putting his money into projects like "Sharesleuth," a new investigative website launched last month that will, as Cuban puts it, "do nothing but try to uncover corporate fraud." He's hired longtime business reporter, Christopher Carey, away from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, to run the site--which will go live next month.
Last Spring, Alex Jones, Director of the Kennedy School's Shorenstein Center on the Press wrote that "Traditional media of all kinds are retreating from the job of covering news on politics, policy and other topics because some consider them boring--the kiss of death. What might be alternative ways to keep accountability widely available?"
Mark Cuban may just be the alternative needed to shake up the traditional media world.

As the November 2006 midterms approach...Air America Radio is shuffling its hosts around like a Texas Hold-em deck between rivers and when Al Franken drops out to run for Norm Coleman's seat, that "alternative to the MSM" will pretty much be wrapped up.

It's good news, but how much will Cuban put into it before he does starts with enough bean-counting to expect it to at least break even.

Hopefully Mr Cuban doesn't get a "loan" from a New York City charity, either!

Although I don't care for the NBA, you can't deny Cuban has rescued its reputation. Plus, when I lived in Dallas, it was fun to watch his courtside manners.
I think an outsider like Cuban could really help journalism realize it can do better.

To Cuban, I say, don't stop there, I hear Mary Mapes and Jason Blair are looking for employment also! This way you can ensure unbiased, fair & balanced, truth in journalism! It's gonna be a breath of fresh air in this conservative-propaganda filled media!

Mark Cuban has a unique combination of youth, competence, and money. Usually one of the three is missing. So this is worth keeping an eye on. Three million homes is not much, but it will serve as good incubator. One of the bigwigs can pick it up later if he gets it right.
And lay off Air America. Liberal radio was never going to take off. Wanna know why? Liberals don't need reality explained to them. Conservatives do.

Oh, come on, MYPARA....sour grapes?
If "Liberal radio was never going to take off", why was and IS "The Nation" still running advertising on AAR and heralded it when it came out and defended its poor ratings (Search "Nicholas von Hoffman" for more).
AAR bombed because it never could figure out its politics. Was it "centrist/Clinton" and Al Franken? "I loved Bill & Hillary, but I'm a liberal" Randi Rhodes? Radical "Everybody Right of me is a Nazi" Mike Malloy? Jerry Springer? or a "Morning Zoo" with two stand-up comedians and a hip-hopster, doing "bits" on "Bush is so stupid...."?
And the fact that it tried to be "Leftist Limbaugh" and couldn't pull off his bravado/"common schmoe like you" dichotomy and "I mock them, but I'm not mean" falsity....and ended up looking both egotistical AND mean.

Dear BARRY-IQ2.5,
On behalf of the rest of the mangement of Burger King, I extend our firmest thanks for your recent application for employment and for the insights that you kindly extended to us during the face-to-face interview process. However, I regret to inform you that --- although we are in fact desperate for crew members during both the open and closing shifts --- we cannot extend an offer to join the Burger King team at this time.
We were puzzled to find that your employment essay on the question of "Why do you want to be crew member on the Burger King team?" seems to have strayed from the topic; this did not enhance your employment prospects. In particular, you wrote:
I THOUGHT ALL YOU PSYCHO'S HAD BEEN COMPLAINING THAT TOO MANY MINORITES WERE BEING FORCED INTO MILITARY SERVICE ONLY TO DIE IN IRAQ BECAUSE WHITEY HAD KEPT THEM DOWN! YOU SHOULD REJOICE IN THE FACT THAT EVIL WHITEY IS BEING RECRUITED TO DIE IN IRAQ AND TAKE THE PLACE OF THE POOR, MISTREATED MINORITIES OF THIS COUNTRY THAT ARE SENT TO DIE BY THE DECIDER! YOU FREAKS ARE NOTHIN' BUT SERIAL COMPLAINERS! OH, MY CONDOLENCES....YOUR HERO'S (WHITE FLAG WAVIN' COWARDS WHO CAN'T SCORE WITHOUT A PENALTY KICK )JUST LOST TO REAL MEN! LOOK AT THE UPSIDE, MAYBE WE'LL SEE SOME MORE RIOTS AND WE CAN ALL WATCH FRANCE BURN! SOCIALISM AT IT'S FINEST!Posted by BARRY25 07/09/200
On my behalf of my colleagues, I can also extend a couple of interview strategies that you may find useful as your quest for employment continues. First, outfit yourself in a clean shirt for the interview; but do not call attention to semen stains on your apparel, as you did during our friendly and animated exchange. Along with arriving clean and presentable, I also counsel you to remain that way during the course of the entire interview. That is, you should have excused yourself to the bathroom rather than defecating in your pants during the interview (curiously, in response to the question, "Under what circumstances did you exit from your most recent employment situation?").
BARRY-IQ2.5, we are indeed glad to have you as a guest in our restaurant and to serve you in the style that you richly deserve. Howver, should you chose to enter our restaurant again, please procede directly to the on-duty manager for our special Burger King VIP treatment (i.e., he wants to pat you down and make a few telephone calls on your behalf to insure that registered officers of the State escort to your next destination).
Thanks once again for the depth of your sincere interest in joining Burger King's crew.

MASK does really seem to have been a hardcore, fully unbridled citizen of Margaritaville during his vacation --- either that, or he goes into fugue states and/or blacks out for days at a time. He asks,
GLENN, not sure (since you provided no CONCRETE examples) what the editorial by Mr Greider I "Lee Atwater'ized" was....these were his last few for 2006
Cheney and HAL---July 10, 2006 issue
The Future Is Now---June 26, 2006 issue
The President Is Not Smiling---April 10, 2006 (web) ...
Notice that MASK leaves out the Greider editorial that I was actually referring to (umm, any reason for that oversight?) in which I had said MASK posits Greider as an apologist for rape. That editorial was published on 25 May and MASK continued writing about it up through 29 May.
Anyway, let's refresh MASK's memory about this concrete occasion when he attempted to shift the topic, Atwater-style, and transform Gredier and everyone else who is left of center into a apologist for street thuggery up to and including rape. Notice that I left out and edited down several of MASK's postings during this trip down Memory Lane for someone in need of the concrete recollection cues:
"Normally, I am a "bleeding heart" when it comes to long prison terms"...now I wonder what THAT means? Is it that "corporate malfesance" has a harsher place in Mr Grieder's heart than...say....armed robbery, rape, or even murder? Posted by MASK 05/25/2006 @ 4:16pm
Notice that Greider was writing about the Enron trials before MASK found an unstated easy-on-rape stand in the editorial.
MASK also somehow does not recall quite a litany of further discourse on the topic. Again, I left a few out:
ZAK, are you saying that given a choice...most people would consider their own rape or murder LESS invocative of a harsh prison sentence, than losing their pension??? No...of course you aren't. But your lumping together of it into a NUMBERS game, where by 5000 people losing their pensions is WORSE than 1 person being sexually assaulted IS indictative of a mind-set on the Left where "out of control capitalism" by "rich white guys" is a "worse crime" than violent assault or death. It's a neo-Marxist ethic, which I don't particularly like. Posted by MASK 05/25/2006
Normally, I am a "bleeding heart" when it comes to long prison terms"--Mr Grieder Perhaps one of the reasons that the "stereotype" of liberals being "soft on crime" is....because corporate crime is the ONLY one they get "tough" on. A "Columbine" happens, and they shift blame from the perpetrators to "the need for more gun control". A "9/11" happens, and they shift the blame from the terrorists, to "American imperialism and support for Israel". Gang violence shifts from the Crips and Bluds, to "inner city poverty". A conservative or centrist would say "Throw them under the jail" for all of that...but for the Left, it's only for the "rich white guys ripping off the Little People"....all the other criminals were created "by society". Posted by MASK 05/26/20
But when Mr Grieder ADMITS that he is "normally...a "bleeding heart" when it comes to long prison terms" and thereby says that if this was ANY OTHER non-corporate crime and criminal, he'd "go easy" on them....he's pointing out his outrage is clearly ECONOMICALLY based ("the evil capitalists stealing from the proletariat" no doubt)...and that means it's subjective and POLITICAL. Posted by MASK 05/26/2006 @ 12:08am
You speak of MY "moral relativism"...and then proceed to lay out how YOUR moral relativism...that corporate corruption is WORSE than rape?!!?!? Let's see.....Democratic Congress and President come to power in 2008 and pass a bill paying the pensions of those who worked at Enron, plus a bonus....so for about 5-6 years, those people suffered some economic difficulties, but weren't living in the streets or anything. Now....how does that same Government wipe out the memory of being sexually assaulted? YOUR morality is based on one thing....the idea that MONEY and things done with it by "evil rich white guys" is worse than anything PHYSICAL that a person can do to another person, even THE most horrific violation of their body. That's insane! Posted by MASK 05/29/2006 @ 09:16am

Mark Cuban may well be the spoiled child many of the rightie posters assert here. I don't know. What I do know, however, is that most to all of these posters support a U.S. foreign policy which is nothing more than "my way or the hiway" on the world scene, and more than the fraudulence and the brutality which they encourage with their know-nothing global politics has continued to escalate. The "odd man out" occurences which were indicated at Abu Ghraib are actually more widespread then the right wants to believe, and I suspect we're only looking at the tip of the iceberg. A war launched under completely fraudulent premise can do nothing else.
But that's convenient, isn't it, righties? Because the worse it gets, the more it can be used to justify the racist and imperialist imperative behind the war to begin with. Everything is the world's fault, nothing comes out of the aggressive one worldism of the United States. Have it your way, boys. You always do, don't you?

The salient point: any success that right-wing talk radio enjoys is a result of the fact that it caters to an audience that is incapable of anything other than sitting around on it's ass all day with the Fourth Reich's alternate reality pouring into it's passive intellect from above.
That strategy isn't practical for an intelligent, employed audience.

Good for Mark Cuban. I wish him the best with his endeavor in trying to get younger people more interested in current events. But, if that is in fact his intention, then does it really make sense to hire a dinosaur (with all due respect) as an anchor? The guy was no longer appealling to other dinosaurs. Why would he be an attraction for Generation Whatever?
Then again, maybe anything is better than having them get "updated" by MTV "news".
But for anyone who believes that this will be something other than a biased approach to news, simply read the post again and stop at "Dan Rather Presents."

.
How smart is starting a new business by tauting an old guy who's reached the end? People caught on to Dan Rather. They became sick of that humbug. He stayed around too long. Finally. the network, losing audience share right and left, lost him. Now Mark Cuban, trying to build an audience, has found him. Go figure.
Katrina vanden Heuvel pretends she is not about her seriously twisted world view, but about serious about news, and that Rather was not about a $15 million a year job, but about serious news, and that Mark Cuban is not about making billions, but about serious news.
Cuban will now offer whatever can build him a large audience. If cock fights were legal, or pornography, that would be what he'd show. Now his hook, his gimmick is serious news. He is brandishing the discredited Dan Rather because Rather for so long cultivated the image of serious news. Lamont has appropriately latched on, not to an icon of a serious newsman, but to a stereotypical effort at acting the role of serious newsman.
If Cuban really were into serious news he'd hire a Robert McNeil. Should he gain a significant audience, we will quickly discover that he will take whatever angle earns him the biggest profits. If the bigger money turns out to be in gossip or fashion shows or sports, that's where he'll go. Cuban is to journalism what Schwarzenegger is to political science. Dan Rather is to honestly informing the nation as Ned Lamont is into sincerely representing Connecticut. For a sincere politician there is Joe Lieberman. For a serious newsman, there is Robert McNeil. Rather and Lamont are about as forthright as KVH and Ahmadinejad.
KVH is an even bigger phony than Rather. She dots on him because she senses in him a fellow crackpot. He gives off those vibes. His entire career was built on projecting vibes, vibes of seriousness and sincerity. Rather has always been an actor. He played a newspaperman, even when he was a newspaperman. He got so far and held on so long because of an ability to read the news with enormous seriousness. That translated into a sense that he had contributed mightily to digging it all up, which is why he cared about it so much. His earnestness was taken for hard work, sincerity and brains. He managed that impression with enormous earnestness. He came to that through a penchant for humorlessness. This ability to project solemnity was his gig. He was ever so without humor, without charm, without an iota of wit, that it came off as depth, as seriousness. He had all the depth of a parking lot puddle. And that is where Cuban is going swimming.

Interesting topic changing as usual from the right wing hacks.
A billionaire makes a non ratings obsessed news channel and the righties want to distract the thread with;
1. whether or not Air America is going to make it (last time I checked AAR had 80 affiliates as opposed to the 7 it started with in 2004. I'd love to have business growth like that and still be called a failure!)
2. whether or not this Cuban fellow is spoiled.....does it matter to whether or not he can launch a non-corporate apologist news network?
3. whether or not gay marriage is "fair" or discrimatory.
Given the unusually high level of distraction techniques being employed by RIGHTIE, I'd say this has them crapping themselves.
So......boo boys here comes Cuban......are you more scared of him than you are of the terrorists?

Chris Jansing of MSNBC just presented a "debate" regarding the Wisconsin Professor who has been hired to teach a course on Islam, to include the theory that 9/11 was an inside job.
Ms. Jansing read from her script a telling phrase...
She said: "There are all kinds of different theories about all kinds of different events...there are even those who deny that the holocaust ever occured...why should this professor be allowed to teach the theory that the US Government was involved in 9/11 to his class?"
Hold on a minute...
Who wrote the script?
Who had the idea to use the most inflamatory Jewish example to make this point?
Who made the moral equivalency of 9/11 Inside Jobbers to holocaust deniers ?
Who wrote the script?
The intended message was clear.
The tactic is evidence.
"Don't look at the government's role, and by ALL MEANS, don't look at the connections of Israel's Mossad to the events of 9/11.
This is your Government's Minister Of Propaganda at work.
Subtle?
Not.
The shill who was hired to attack the Professor was given 3X more air time than was the attorney who was there purportedly to "debate" on behalf of the university. He spoke for 20 seconds - then the segment came to a rapid close.
Sometimes things are EXACTLY as they appear.
Hey Karl - you're busted!
Me thinks thou doth protest too much.

Fetzer, a burly man with a booming voice, co-chairs a group called 9/11 Scholars for Truth. He outlined the theories at Sunday's gathering, saying:
• Explosives must have been detonated inside the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, because the impact of the airplanes was not enough to bring down the twin towers.
• That the damage to the Pentagon was such that a smaller military plane, as opposed to a large commercial aircraft, must have flown into the Pentagon, shooting a missile as it went.
• That the debris of the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania was scattered so widely that it must have been shot down.
• That half a dozen of the men who are said to have hijacked the planes are still living in the Middle East.
"It's a myth," Fetzer said of the generally accepted view that Islamic terrorists were behind the attacks. "The American government has been practicing terrorism on its own people."
Barrett told the crowd that the Bush administration orchestrated the attacks to justify invading Iraq. He said the purpose to the war was to take control of oil and other resources in the Middle East.
"The 9-11 images were designed to make us stupid, little children," he said.

And unlike most liberals who infect gov't jobs ( cause they can't make it in the real world ) I am self-employed! Being self-employed means that although I have a lot of responsiblity and pay much more in taxes to take care of loser liberals, I also have control over my life and can control my schedule! You see liberals, hard work and taking advantage of the opportunities this country has granted all of us has paid off well for me! I'm not rich by any means, but I am quite productive and it's people like me that make this country great and pay for all the entitlements you cochroaches live off of! Now, I'm glad you derelicts showed your true colors by not denying the descriptions i laid out concerning liberals and instead you just made stupid little assumptions about me. Furthermore, that Glenn C. is psycho, man! He's put a lot of work into attacking me! I feel like I'm being stalked! May I recommend Zoloft?

I'm glad to hear that you're self-employed but I'm sorry to hear that you're not rich yet. It isn't easy to make it in the NBA as a professional basketball player but I'm sure there's a lot of great white hope there. Uh . . . wait- do you spell white with a capital W?
That was probably a good carrer track choice since your career as an editorial page columnist has fizzled due to your spelling inadequacies. It is, however, intriguing that you can spell Zoloft correctly.

CUBAN can barely go a week in the NBA without stepping on his dick, and he gets fined heavily in process.
Mark is a good buisnessman, he made a fortune and turned around the Maverick franchise, but come on.
Just like his cancelled show, whatever its name was, he couldnt compete against Trumps the "Apprentice," actually i dont think he made it a whole a season.
Mark made his money essentially in the areana of sports entertainment, he should stick to that, anytime he has ventured out of that area, he has had mixed results, and always disappointing ones.

Less vitriolic than some of the above...
Your info on AAR is out-dated. First, it's 87 affiliates...but it has lost its flagship station in New York, WLIB. Second, with the firing of Janeane Garafalo and the shuffling around of Sam Seder, it's evening show has pretty much collapsed in the ratings ("Majority Report" was among the lowest rated AAR shows, followed closely by Randi Rhodes, their afternoon drive, a key radio slot).
Following the collapse of morning drive "Morning Sedition" and the unceremonious dumping of Lizz Winstead and the "Unfiltered" show for....GASP! ..Jerry Springer, the ratings slumped for all but Al Franken.
Mike Malloy, Laura Flanders, "Eco-talk", "Ring of Fire", etc....in the "graveyard slots" of late nights and weekends pull ratings lower than Spanish language AM or local Pentacostal religious broadcasts.
And Franken (their "money man") has made it quite clear (with his move back to Minneapolis) that he's leaving in 2007 (likely to run against Norm Coleman for Senate)...and that's the ball-game.
Again, chief problem for it was political. Though ostentiously "liberal", Franken and others praised Clinton and defended the Clinton years, glossing over welfare reform, NAFTA, "era of Big Gov't is over". Primarily though it was a forum for ranting against Bush and the Bush Administration (occasionally with dark, violent overtones...notably a sketch by Randi Rhodes discussing shootings and GWB) and as a ally of the liberal blogs, from Atrios to Kos.
Despite trying to be a force for "winning back hearts and minds" to the Democratic Party and/or liberalism, it's NEVER had anything much above a 1.2 share, except in those obvious "liberal bastions", college towns and urban areas.
It also made a few "bad bets", with its support of Howard Dean at the outset...supporting Cindy Sheehan and then having to excuse her more outrageous acts and comments...and finally pushing the "Fighting Dem" model for 2005-2006, and being back-stabbed by Schumer and Reid over Paul Hackett.
Ultimately...money is problem. Aside from "The Nation" and a few left-wing supporters, it gets few mainstream advertisers and is garnering a reputation as a financial "black hole" into which good money is poured after bad, and only political activism of its backers keep it afloat.
(Oddly, I never listen to it....hehe...just kidding, of course)
Will Mark Cuban and "HDNet with Dan Rather" do with "true investigatory reporting", what AAR couldn't do with "political entertainment for non-conservatives"....again....wouldn't bet the kids' college funds on it.

Mask,
1. 87 affiliates from 7 in two years is adding almost one a week. I find it hard to argue that that is a model of failure....but you can have it your way I suppose.
2. I am sitting in NJ and just turned radio to 1190 WLIB and it's still the same format. I also Googled WLIB and I don't see any announcements that they are changing formats.....sources please.
3. Where do you get your ratings information from?

There's not a lot of discussion to be had with people who routinely throw out any standard that's balanced, which is what happens here all too often. We see reems of writing on how the liberals and socialist ideology have been proven wrong by history, which would carry more weight with me were there a similar sensibility about the are so rabidly embracing right now. Case in point, Barry25's little discourse on how work and production make one free. No one's denying that we have to work and be productive, Barry25. The question is whether it's a healthy societal development to make commercial exchange the crux of all public discourse. Because, in the past, when other cultures have made work and production the whole of the definition of freedom- and you can include your stalinist straw men in this mix- the result has been a collapse into totalitarianism, and the substitution of form over substance. That is to say, empire instead of internationalism, and lickspittle yes men cringing for a paycheck instead of people with legitamate concerns about corporate corruption and domination of public discourse. For Christ's sake, even Jefferson and Madison saw that as a problem. Read your history, "patriot". And if you can't follow that argument, maybe you'd be happier talking to people who agree with you all the time, instead of consuming band space here arguing with people who aren't ever going to agree with your austere and manichean world view.

I think you're overlooking the essence of BARRY25. The Republican Party that he so rabidly endorses considers him nothing more than a useful, mindless chump who serves their purposes in reigning over a self-serving, corrupt state that is spending the average American into the poorhouse with a debt that will take many decades to pay off . . . with nothing productive to show for it. They're even directing public funds to their politicized, right-wing churches by a variety of superficial scams.

Mask,
I went to mediaweek and went back in the Radio news section to June 22.....nothing on WLIB.
What about a specific link please?
I often try to decipher Arbitron ratings, if you can figure out that Air America are at an average 1.2 in their markets from Arbitron.com you're better than I am!
I do know they have a 0.8 in NYC which I think is 27th out of 45 rated (although there are more than 60 stations in the NY Market so I'm not sure what happened to Arbitron's rankings of the other 20 or so).
In short, are the ratings low? Yes. Would it be cheaper to play Reggae 24 hours a day? Yes. But isn't the challenge for this type of business model to produce the programming (at comparatively high cost) and then defer those costs with an ever increasing list of affiliates. If I were running AAR, I'd concentrate on the quality of the programming (according to you there seems to be changes afoot), and I'd worry about expanding the affiliate count. Once national (or as national as radio gets, Rush is on over 600 affiliates I think), I'd then worry about increasing listenership.
Now of course, this sounds a bit backward given revenue comes from station ratings, but the format cannot survive long term with good ratings in a few markets as the cost of programming is too high. It can only survive long term with good ratings in hundreds of markets. Thus if you can't add affiliates then it's all over.
And given that radio is dominated by Clear Channel and Infinity and both are insanely right wing, I'd say the biggest battle is locking up affiliates before the competition does rather than getting the audience.
You seem to think AAR is in a Chenneyesque "last throes". You seem to know more about Air America than me. But then again I thought Chenney would know more about the Iraqi insurgency than me!

Fromredbird,
You've heard of the "death" tax that chimps like Barry decry as unfair.
What about the "birth" tax. Every child born in America already owes $30,000! The IRS should station agents at every hospital and demand their $30,000 from every baby before he/she is allowed their first nipple!
Posted by freedomplease at 07/11/2006 @ 5:20pm
I travel frequently between the central valley and central coast of Ca. ! 1340 am SLO, Ca. and 790 Fresno, Ca. carry Air America. For the last few months both stations fill up thier commercial breaks with music like Neil Young etc. You'll hear a commercial here and there but usually it's all music filler! They're days are numbered here, and I chuckle with glee every time I hear that music during the break! But who could think Air America could be successful when it's attacking the very country it's broadcast in day in and day out! Here's their diverse format: attack Bush, attack Bush, attack Bush! What a great formula for success!
Posted by barry25 at 07/11/2006 @ 5:27pm
I don't think that birth tax is such a bad idea ( at least in Ca. ) since most of their parents are here illegally! Better they pay for themselves than me!

Freedomplease, you are right for once! Clear channel is dominated by conservative radio as are almost all AM stations. As a conservative, I will readily admit to facts like that! But when you are confronted with the fact that academia (around 90% college professors are registered Dem's ), and the vast majority of the MSM are liberally biased, you go into childish denial! That's like me saying that Christian churches are not overwhelmingly conservative ( which they no doubt are )! You see, conservatives tend to have the class to keep it real, and Dem's just attack and deny!

You claim the Constitution doesn't grant any rights to homosexuals that aren't granted to anyone else. We agree on that, for sure.
But where in the Constitution is marriage defined as "one man, one woman"? Come to think of it, whwere is marriage defined in the Constitution in any way?
Oh, right, it isn't.
The aversion to gay marriage stems from homophobia and aversion to gays, period, i.e discrimination.

Dear Lunatic -
Responding to people by naming and linking them to people they did not mention...
Implying endorsement of ideals they did not mention...
Talking about Bush in terms of what he "won by" five years ago when he is currently in the toilet with almost 70% or Americans (and about that much of the rest of the world) today, even though Bush was not mentioned...
Only gives proof that you are delusional and hearing voices in your head.
But that isn't news to anyone who's read your posts here, even your fellow conservatives. Notice, Barry, that not one of them ever leaps to your defense or agrees with you. You're shunned, as you should be.

I couldn't care less about talk radio (Air America is in my market; I have better things to do than listen to the radio all day) but you're obviously desperately looking for any scrap of positive data about your tottering right-wing lie machine. Unfortunately the overall trend is obvious. As the Republican Fourth Reich has been progressively exposed they have lost supporters and their fake "news" outlets have sunk with them. Very few people like being lied to. You can count yourself among the select group that prefers to be lied to.
"Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes is on the warpath following his network's recent ratings slump . . .
So far during the second quarter, the No. 1 cable news channel's primetime schedule has dropped 22% in its core 25-54 demo and 8% in total viewers. The first quarter was even worse.
Chief rival CNN has also dipped in recent weeks, but less dramatically, off 18% in the demo and 2% in total viewers."

"RIGHTWING SITES LOSING VIEWERS
US POLITICS - An odd thing seems to have happened to the mighty right-wing talking head media juggernaut. They are still talking, but fewer people seem to be listening---at least on the Internet. Alexa.com, which is owned and operated by Amazon.com, tracks online usage for all web sites, large and small. At Alexa.com you can check a site's activity up to the minute, or follow its trail back for many years.
During the past 3 months, rushlimbaugh.com traffic ranking has declined 18%. Even Fox News, that gold standard of right-wing media, is down 13%.
Ann Coulter is coining money by attacking widows and orphans---a new game for her since she's run out of Democrats, living and dead, to defame and verbally pillage. You would think all of the attention the promotion of her new book has given her would raise visitor numbers at her web site, anncoulter.com. Nope. Traffic there is down 10%.
The audience chart reversal seems to be common across the entire right-wing side of the Internet viewing board. Billoreilly.com has dropped 40% in the past 3 months. Townhall.com, that once popular center for right-wing news and commentary, has fallen by 24%. WashingtonTimes.com is down by 27%. And how about Matt Drudge, once the hottest right-wing name in Internet sites? Alexa.com says drudgereport.com is down 21%.
Could it be that Internet users are getting tired of political sites in general? Maybe so. But Moveon.org is up 13% in the same period."

It's great to see that among the mega-rich are some who have a social conscience and are trying to right the balance in the country. It's refreshing to hear people like Soros and Cuban and Gates Sr. speaking out and putting their considerable weight not to mention their money where their mouth is. But there may be a better way to funnel money toward doing good.
As Cockburn points out in the July 17/24 issue of the Nation, Warren Buffett could have gotten more bang for his buck by buying Congressmen with his $31 billion instead of giving it to the Gates Foundation. Cockburn estimates that $20K would buy a Rep while 50K would get you a Senator in todays market. The idea intrigued me so much I set about working out the details.
So first of all, of the 535 reps 270 are needed for a solid majority so 270 times $20,000 comes to $5,400,000. Now fifty two Senators ( one extra just to be on the safe side and remembering that Cheney has a vote in the squeakers ) times $50,000 comes to $2,600,000. Grand total exactly $8,000,000. Finally that 31 billion dollars of Buffett's divided by 8 million comes to 4,875 ! That's four thousand eight hundred and seventy five pieces of legislation Mr. Buffett could have gotten passed to help slow our return to a society similar to the one that we had back in 1929.
Think of what could be done to ransom Universal Health Care from big Pharma, reverse draconian bankruptcy laws jammed through by the credit Card Industry, buy back the votes to subsidize giant farming conglamorates that are devastating the economies of many small nations ( yes I know we are all supposed to believe in free trade now but some times it just doesn't seem that way ).
Mark Cuban if you're out there I would argue that trying to influence our democracy by waking up the sleeping electorate is too slow a process. Why spend a lot of time trying to change the political process ? Take advantage of that well oiled sytem that the corporations have put in place. Buying entrenched legislators outright is so simple and so much more cost effective in the long run.

A repost after reading this morning...and air America...
Greetings from China...
"I mean, does anybody out there besides me think it's nuts that we live in an economy under which we HAVE to think about developing a million dollars in assets before we can have a comfortable retirement?"...
Even this horseshit doesn't fly over here anymore..
The reason one has to have a huge pile to retire on is the fact in order to actually have, say, $10,000 to spend you have to make almost $ 22,000 BEFORE TAXES.. it is obvious you don't make any money if you ask questions such as above.
And this gem....
"We need a strong public sector. "...
Where do you think the cash come from in order to have this glorious program???
Yup, out of the $ 22,000 you had to earn before you can keep your $ 10,000.
I have been reading the web the last week here and more of the "progressive" gems posted here were posted here, in China,.....in the 60s and 70's..and abandoned for, you guessed it..good old capitalism from the US.
NOTE..If you want to keep Congress out of session, any Congress, which WILL protect your wallet, the remove the AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. I believe there is a direct link between amount of time Congress was in session and the instaltion of air conditioning. There was a reason the Founding Fathers built Washington DC...it was and is a swamp.
As far as Air Ameridca..it wouldn't make it here in China..you should see the capitalistic Chinese on the street here..all want to know about America..and seem to have a healthy view of the US..
Red Nickers,
my friend is the lead counsel for the Gates Foundation and she told me the board is full of liberals who were convicnced they were all going to serve in the kerry administration, are totallt depressed. The giving of Buffets money aids the foundation and KEEPS ALL OF THE CASH OUT OF THE TAX MANS HANDS,EVERY PENNY,which flies in the face of those who think Gates, Buffet,et al, want to not pass it on to their family, which, they have trust funds in the multi millions anyway, in case you missed that point. She also says they get 40,000 requests a week for money that do not make the list of giving criteria and the worst offenders are actually on the board, wanting to fund all sorts of "peoples" projects and liberal groups...which she keeps in line by keeping the Foundation legal...actually has to keep saying to those on the board, we can't legal do this,...amazing stories.
Anyway, back to the profit loving ,American admiring, Chinese..something this post doesn't seem to have much of...
Bye for a while. You guys supply me many laughs and renew my faith in the US of A.
PS Bush is not running and if Mark Cubanm starts to lose cash big..he will close the place down....if his hope is to have a real news company, well, he is doomed, as he hired the wrong man. Rather is no more a mews man than am I...he should be working for the DNC as he has been a mouth piece for them for years.

Just like the hollywood idiot's ( hypocrites of the highest order ) you supposedly work for your " fellow man " ( hahahahahahahaha! ) and then you disparage the jobs of the " fellow man " that you feel are beneath your chosen career! Hypocrite of the highest order I must say! Typical though! Alec Baldwin, while talking about how compassionate that he is, attacks Hannity for being a " former construction worker "! You elitist twerps are sooooooo transparent you do our ( conservatives ) work for us! Clowned with your own words, you are now my new favorite bitch! He's heating up, folks... and doesn't know when to quit...
So I shall deconstruct him since I'm just kicking it after work, and ain't got much to do - a rare and peaceful lull, if you will...
(interrupted by an asshat)
Dear Barry -
I never complained about my mowing lawns when I was in your position - as opposed to your neighborhood lawn-mowing and curb-numbering business, however, the successful gardening and landscaping business I was employed by for years gave me a wonderful appreciation for labor and laborers, especially when you consider that I moved from the lowest position in the company to its ownership in less than a decade.
I have moved on in the ensuing years from hard labor, however, by acquiring a solid education in other marketable skills that did not require bending my back and breaking my knuckles all day.
You, I'm sure, would call that "elitist", the furthering of one's job skills and acquisition of education - and it shows in your ranting.
These days, I find handling money, processing memberships and donations, providing art and voiceover talents, handling antiquities, teaching children and adults about history, and assisting in community and world-oriented humanitarian activities (as we are known and respected in over 70 countries) quite rewarding as a vocation.
I can see why I must bug the shit out of you, Barry. I am a happy, employed liberal who:
- doesn't give a shit about Jason Blair or mary Mapes - never listen to read them
- doesn't follow basketball of give a shit about "Cuban's courtside manner"
- has never felt "entitled" to anything
- has worked for everything they have ever acquired in life and never applied for welfare or asked for a handout from anyone, anywhere
- knows how to spell
- realizes that William Jefferson Clinton is no longer president
- doesn't think that "worked them over like a Clinton intern" is really be funny to anyone older than 17, especially after the thirtieth time we've heard it
- pays taxes and doesn't complain about it at every single opportunity, no matter what it's for
- does not think that rich people are better than poor people, or anyone else
- does not think that poor people are better than rich people, or anyone else
- does not think that black people are better than white people, or anyone else
- does not think that white people are better than black people, or anyone else
- does not think that gays are any less people than anyone else
- doesn't consider "deep thinker" an epithet
- knows that Hannity, O'Reilly, and Coulter are self-righteous above all else, and damned sure consider themselves "entitled"
- has neither aided nor abetted terrorists or terrorism in any way, shape, or form
- truly helps his fellow men instead of just giving that human (and certainly Christian) duty lip service
- was never picked on by jocks in school
- loves this country, and would die for it
- realizes that flying the flag and putting bumper stickers on your car doesn't make the above statement true
- has never listened to Air America, ever, but thinks Janeane Garafolo is a fun actress and kind of cute, in a homely way
- thinks Alec Baldwin is sorta last decade, and that his best role ever was with Adam Sandler as the Boy Scout on Saturday Night Live... Does he talk politics? I wouldn't know...
- finds attacking Dub to be the easiest pasttime I've ever had in my life- the man makes himself attackable every day - it's like a frisbee that throws itself
- is for strict borders, new immigration restrictions, and expulsion of illegals from our country, but thinks that your statement that "most [California] parents are here illegally" is stupid, presumptive, and racist as all hell...
- peruses a dozen news sources or more a day, including world newspapers, right-wing, left-wing, and government, websites, and radio
- guesses you would call all of the above the evil "MSM"...
- has seen "Outfoxed"
- doesn't particularly care about (not "care for") the French
- thinks it's a little alarmist and unrealistic to claim that "violent youths" "control" the streets of France - you have a tendency to inflate everything, especially yourself
- has at least enough self-esteem not to devote an entire post to congratulating myself, a la "Damn I'm good!"
- finds 9/11 widows to be some of the most, tragic, haunting figures in our country today, and would never dream of calling them "loony activists", regardless of their politics
- is not wimpy or limp-wristed in any way, and certainly not because they are liberal
- doesn't "advocate" violence, but sees how it's been necessary at several points throughout history, even if not always as the last resort
- believes that peace and tolerance only go so far with some people - like you were speaking French to them - they just don't get it and you have to try another language
Your bitch, Barry?
I know, again, that you insist on rejecting reality and substituting your own, but...
Get real, you speck.

You've added a great deal of clarity to your personality with that statement. You aren't the least concerned about the deaths of Americans. You are simply compulsively addicted to a need to kill those "other" people . . . any "other" people that are handy, for any lame excuse. All the rest of your public persona is just rhetoric deployed in an attempt to preserve that opportunity as long as possible. People like you belong in a mental facility.

Mask,
Well I must say, I was beginning to doubt your authenticity with the "nuff said" brush off. I read the April article and note that the date of severance is August 31, 2006.
Given that since April neither the (new) management of WLIB or Air America have made any further announcements I presume that it was a programming cost negotiating tactic that has since been resolved.
I guess we'll have to wait until August 31st to know for sure.

FREE....given I was RIGHT, might not SOME acknowledgement by you be the polite thing?
Why do we have to wait until August 31st...and when that date comes and AAR goes off WLIB, will there be yet another counter-argument from you on that?
I surely will admit that I am wrong on that date, if AAR remains on WLIB....remind me if I forget.
My point is AAR is losing a FLAGSHIP station in THE market for any sort of progressive political talk radio, and their internal programming problems are becoming worse. That's not a good sign.
The real tipping point was probably reached after 2004, with the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club Scandal and the failure of AAR to show any real "impact" on the elections. If the 2006 midterms do as badly for Dems, especially the "Fighting Dems" that AAR is so prominently hawking, the "usefulness" of it to its backers will become self-evident.
Cuban's HDNet thing is in more trouble. "Three million homes"?...What is that, like HALF of "Univision" and "Spice Channel"? Plus, he's aiming for a limited target audience ("liberals who want 'real' investigatory journalism") and he's pulling out a man who is (charitably) "past his prime".
If Cuban was serious about this, he'd go after an "Anderson Cooper" or "Keith Olberman", but not a 75 year old man whose last journalistic "event" is popularly known as "Memo-gate".
Posted by Mask at 07/12/2006 @ 10:13am
The "PUBLIC" air waves' utilization by Air America, although, I've not had the opportunity to listen, encourages me much as does my listening to the "old standards" on AM 1230 WNSB and AM 1340 WROD in Volusia County (and thank you Black Box Voting folk here!), Florida.
The public good is a concept containing consideration, whereas war/discord/disconnection is antithetical to harmony or beauty. I wish you good days, fellow citizens.
Posted by lewwelge at 07/12/2006 @ 10:16am
Mask,
In the fact that the article that you originally referred to did, in fact, exist, you were right. I thank you for the link.
I apologize for not being as convinced as you are about the separation of AAR from WLIB based on that one article from April which has never been followed up (as far as I can find) to make statements like "AAR is losing a flagship station".
I will surely admit I was erring on the side of caution, if in fact on August 31 WLIB's format changes. Remind me if I forget!
Posted by freedomplease at 07/12/2006 @ 12:01pm
he's aiming for a limited target audience ("liberals who want 'real' investigatory journalism") and he's pulling out a man who is (charitably) "past his prime".
Amen! Ignoring half your audience is usually reserved for the likes of PBS and NPR, who never actually have to make money.
I found this quote from Cuban interesting:
Cuban disclosed that he had been swamped with e-mails from Rather detractors, but said: "Now that he is finally released from the ratings-driven and limited-depth confines of broadcast television, I am excited about the impact Dan can have on the future of news."
Sounds more like Opinion Journalism than actual hard news. At least call it for what it is. To be fair, we shall wait and see.

No problem...on that "reminding" thing...hehe.
Again, I think, despite it being a breach of free speech and looking for a "diversity of opinion", that AAR would have had a better go at it, if they had imposed some kind of "litmus test" for political statements by their hosts.
The "centrist/Clinton" Franken/Springer audience isn't going to tolerate the hard-core "Democratic wing of the Democratic Party" (if not just plain radical!) audience of Mike Malloy/Sam Seder/Garafalos.
Hate 'em or hate 'em, Limbaugh, Hannity, Dr Laura, even Michael Savage not THAT far off the same page of talking points...which gives their line-up some clarity and ends political bickering. I've heard Randi Rhodes callers call Al Franken a "sell-out"...not something that bodes well for "one big happy progressive radio family".
And, frankly, I don't think a liberal/progressive format will garner an audience, because the views on certain issues still poll WELL below 50%, even 40% or 30% (on things like gay marriage) and the electoral populace just isn't with the Left on them and would reject any host who espoused the more offensive ones (which the host would be FORCED to do, to stay intellectually honest).
In other words, "down-the-line" liberalism just isn't going to sell.
Posted by Mask at 07/12/2006 @ 12:20pm
Getting away from the topic of evolutionary anomalies like BARRY25 and back to the topic of "MSM/mainstream spinelessness"- the characterization fails to capture the essential reality of a news industry that sees it's mission as nothing more than marketing the Stalin-like "social realism" of a corrupt, rotten state. It is a full equity partner to such an extent that even it's own industry trade publications are finding it difficult to hide their squeamishness. In this case, about the way the US news industry has been willingly repeating this lie proffered by the high command of the US Army:
Ever since the case of the raping and killing of an Iraqi and the alleged murder of three of her family members by U.S. troops went public, the age of the rape victim had been in dispute, ranging from about 15 to 25. Two days ago, Reuters and others news agencies produced proof that she was 14, based on a passport and identity card. Most news organizations then started calling her a girl -- but some persist in referring to her as a "woman." http://tinyurl.com/m2udm
Something like this, however, will never register anything on the mentalities of this blog's right-wing throwbacks. To them 22 year old Monica Lewinsky will always be "a child" and this 14 year old Iraqi raped and murdered by a unit of the US Army will always be "a woman".

FROM...not sure you made your point (or "tinyurl.com" did)
If Reuters found out she was 14 and "Most news organizations then started calling her a girl"...then "most" would seem to indicate a MAJORITY of the Media doing the right thing, no?
The some who "persist in referring to her as a 'woman.'" would be the minority and would demonstrate little evidence of your assumption.
I think you (and/or "tinyurl") can come up with a better example.

Hi Mark!
From Huffpo:
This is all one war. It's a real war and it saddens me to think that most people here are not just 'anti-war' but actively cheering on the other side.
By: nickmallory on July 14, 2006 at 04:24am
Yes it is all "One War."
Not by accident, but by design.
The PNAC plan spelled out the road map for creating all that has transpired. Some of us who are hip to the fact that the plan was written on behalf of Israel are NOT FUCKING HAPPY that they wrote a plan to launch World War III which required as its ESSENTIAL PRETEXT, a "New Pearl Harbor" in the US - and then tapped ALL OF OUR TREASURE and ALL OF OUR BLOOD for its implementation.
Was Israel's Mossad directly involved in 9/11? There is plenty of evidence to draw that conclusion. You know who holds the proof? Our own government knows for a fact that Mossad was involved in 9/11. They have ALL of the proof. You don't. They do. They don't work for you...they work for Israel.
Was Cheney directing all of the activities on 9/11 with elements of the FBI & CIA & NORAD & DEFENSE under his command? ABSOLUTELY.
Cheney outsourced the 9/11 False Flag attack to the False Flag experts...MOSSAD.
Google "False Flag"
When you look at an administration that is packed full of the NeoCons who actually wrote and or signed the PNAC, and then see the entire plan being implemented to the letter right before your eyes, wouldn't it just be ridiculous to attribute all of these events to COINCIDENCE?
The Likud invites attack upon itself. It requires it. When there is not enough "anti-semitism," it incites it. All of this is tactical to justify any course they choose to take. The motto of the Mossad is being followed to the letter, every day. How many (purported terrorist) bombings has Mossad implemented? You have no idea.
Mossad agents were arrested in New York on 9/11 with high explosives, and you don't even know it.
It's all a big game here in opposite world. This war by Israel against Lebanon, Syria and Iran is right on schedule. There is nothing about it that should come as a surprise. They advertised it in advance.
What are we to make of a White House, CIA, FBI, NSA and Pentagon infiltrated with dual citizens (who hold Israeli passports)?
Literally EVERYTHING that has happened is by design.
The California energy crisis instigated by none other than Ken Lay's Enron set the table for the "Oil Experts" to be installed in the White House surrounded by their Israel-First warmongering advisors.
More Than One Hundred individuals within the US Government were not only aware of the pending 9/11 attacks, they orchestrated them as the essential pretext for all that has followed.
Bin Laden does not exist. The FBI's own Top-Ten most wanted confirms that Bin Laden was NOT INVOLVED in 9/11.
Why does our President continue to lie to us every day about this?
Do the math folks. The word "conspiracy" is not a dirty word, it is simply used to describe events that required planning to implement.
The PNAC plan is signed by the co-conspirators. Those of us who are totally pissed off that the US has been dragged into Israel's war against virtually all Arabs have every right to express our disgust with what has led to this.
The mainstream media in the US is fully complicit, nothing more than a propoganda organ to implement the plan.
Can it really just be coincidental that yesterday, the word "IRAN" was mentioned over a thousand times as having been directly responsible for kidnapping the Israeli soldiers and launching the missiles?
Wouldn't this be similar to accusing Iraq of attacking America the day after 9/11...like Rumsfeld did?
Coincidence?
WAKE UP!

Raytheon and 9/11
The planning was conceived in pitiless detail by social engineers. In the 1960s, Abt Associates - a consulting firm founded by Clark C. Abt, a German who migrated to the U.S. in 1937, earned a degree at MIT and joined Raytheon after the war - assisted the Pentagon and CIA with Project Camelot, a computer model for destabilizing foreign governments.
Socialist scholar Guerry Hoddersen writes that Abt Associates "developed a simulation game called Politica that drew information from a computer linking the files of the CIA, the Defense Intelligence Agency and the State Department. Politica was used in training Third World police" and predicting "which social forces could be mobilized against leftist governments.
And now they have used it against US.
Raytheon, maker of Patriot and Tomahawk missiles, watched its stock take off after the 911 attacks.
Purchases of call options contracts on Raytheon stock increased sixfold on September 10, 2001.
Purchases of call options contracts on Raytheon stock increased sixfold on September 10, 2001.
Purchases of call options contracts on Raytheon stock increased sixfold on September 10, 2001.
http://www.onlinejournal.com/artman/publish/article_842.shtml
The Raytheon option contracts made money, if shares were more than $25 each. The price zoomed up nearly 37 percent to $34.04 during the first week after post 9/11 trading.
Parenthetically, Raytheon had also been hit with millions of dollars in fines for padding costs of equipment it sold to the US military. Raytheon also has a hush-hush subsidiary, E-Systems, whose clients include the CIA and NSA, the latter about to make a hostile takeover of the other.
CLEARLY, Bets were placed in advance of 9/11 with foreknowledge of 9/11. This isn't just War Profiteering, this is TERROR PROFITEERING.
Raytheon had a DIRECT role in 9/11.

Americans (too many) do not know that Raytheon executives were killed on 9-11, or at least wound up permanently missing, which may be a more accurate way of saying it. It is who wound up missing that is most interesting.
This is an excerpt of the email we received and is information that we knew as of the issuance of the flight manifests for all four of the planes allegedly involved in 9-11:

Given what we know about VP Cheney's direct financial ties to Haliburton, isn't it clear that he has committed a fraud against the United States for the purpose of illegal financial gain, in accordance with the following statute? Couldn't the same be said of any US official who knowingly made false statements to advance the cause of war, while owning shares of companies that stood to gain substantially from that war? Cheney was acting specifically on behalf of the Contractor, Haliburton, to ensure no-bid contracts were awarded, based on knowingly fraudulent information generated by his own Office Of Special Plans. It might also be construed that any official who had a relationship to the Carlyle Group was also lying on their behalf - for their own financial benefit.
Section 1031. Major fraud against the United States
(a) Whoever knowingly executes, or attempts to execute, any scheme or artifice with the intent - (1) to defraud the United States; or (2) to obtain money or property by means of false or fraudulent pretenses, representations, or promises, in any procurement of property or services as a prime contractor with the United States or as a subcontractor or supplier on a contract in which there is a prime contract with the United States, if the value of the contract, subcontract, or any constituent part thereof, for such property or services is $1,000,000 or more shall, subject to the applicability of subsection (c) of this section, be fined not more than $1,000,000, or imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.
(1) the gross loss to the Government or the gross gain to a defendant is $500,000 or greater; or
(2) the offense involves a conscious or reckless risk of serious personal injury.

The financial links between those who lied, and those who benefitted as a direct result of the lies (primarily in the oil and military industries) are clear. The evidence that the President's speech knowingly included a lie about the Niger Yellow Cake is proveable in a court of law under oath.
That the Vice President knew for a fact that the claim was based on a forgery in advance of the President's speech is a given. That he instructed others to ensure that the sentence made it into the speech is also a given. What did the Vice President know, and when did he know it?
Everytime the Vice President knowingly lied to the American People to advance the cause of war, he committed a crime against the United States which both directly harmed other US citizens and directly enriched himself.
Indict Dick Cheney for Fraud.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/10/20031001-6.html
Consummate diplomats like Wilson typically do not speak of "lies." So outraged was Wilson, though, that this bogus story had been used to "justify" an unprovoked war, that he made a point to note that the already proven dishonesty begs the question regarding "what else they are lying about."
It was a double whammy. And, as is now well known, the White House moved swiftly-if clumsily (and apparently illegally)-to retaliate.
It was clear from the start that Vice President Dick Cheney and Kemosabe (Amer. Indian for "Scotter") Libby, as well as Karl Rove, were taking the lead in this operation to make an object lesson of Wilson and his wife.
http://www.counterpunch.org/mcgovern10202005.html
But there is abundant evidence that senior White House officials were aware of the CIA's doubts regarding the Niger story long before the State of the Union. Nearly a year earlier, in February 2002, the CIA had dispatched former Ambassador Joseph Wilson to Niger to investigate the claim about uranium purchases. When the CIA debriefed him in March, his findings were emphatic: As Wilson explained in a New York Times op-ed on July 6, "It did not take long to conclude that it was highly doubtful that any such transaction had ever taken place." CIA Director George Tenet claimed on July 11 that Wilson was sent to Niger by junior nonproliferation experts at the CIA acting "on their own initiative" and that senior administration officials were unaware of his mission. But this is not true. Wilson was told by CIA officials that the mission had been specifically requested by the office of the vice president. Indeed, Dick Cheney's chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby, told Time magazine that Cheney had "asked a question about the implication of the [uranium] report." And, as Wilson tells The New Republic, "When an executive agency is tasked to find something out and it gets an answer, it goes back to the person who requested it." For the White House to suggest that Cheney's office was unaware of the results of Wilson's inquiry strains credulity.
Moreover, there is strong evidence that the CIA clearly conveyed its doubts about the Niger allegation to the White House on more than one occasion prior to the State of the Union. When Bush wanted to include the claim in an October 7, 2002, speech in Cincinnati, Tenet personally intervened, imploring Condoleezza Rice's National Security Council (NSC) deputy, Stephen Hadley, to cut the allegation from the speech, which he did. The idea that no one involved with the State of the Union was aware of this earlier, emphatic intervention is implausible. And when the latter speech was being written, the CIA again raised questions about the Niger assertion. According to The New York Times, when NSC proliferation staffer Robert G. Joseph called his CIA counterpart, Alan Foley, to ask about including the allegation in the State of the Union, Foley told Joseph the CIA was not confident about the information.

Conflicts and power
From an outstanding interview with Professor Ilan Pappe of Haifa University (my emphasis):
"I think that neo-conservatism is mainly a product of the Cold War, and I think as happened in Israel, so in the US, a lot of people benefit economically, sociologically, politically, from a situation of conflict which begins with the producers of arms, and it ends with the people who have a hold on the decision-making apparatus in the name of national security. And of course this was all lost in a way when the Soviet Union collapsed, and the cold war ended. And I think this group of people were looking for a new bogey man, a new threat to the national security of the US and they found it because of the very strong influence, I think, of Israel among other things, in the Arab world and the Islamic world. Of course, movements such as the Islamic Al-Qaeda did not help. They provided the pretext, and the context for even pushing these ideas even further. And what we have now is the same people, a next generation, who would do all they can to perpetuate the conflict, because they benefit from the conflict. They benefit from situations of wars, of conflicts, and so on, and I think this is what enforces their hold over the American policy making in the world at large, and in the Middle East in particular."
We often wonder why people like Ledeen seem to be so interested in creating conflict for the sake of conflict. One reason is that people who are aware of the timing of a conflict are in a position to make money off it. Another reason is that this constant conflict constitutes the sole reason why these people have any power. They create an escalating series of problems, and then have to remain in power to ‘solve' them. Of course, the solutions continue to lead to more conflicts. We can understand all the the talk about Iran as another example of creating a conflict which gives these characters something to do. While a civil war in Iraq benefits Likudniks in the American government and in Israel, it also benefits a guy like Cheney, whose only interest is in creating more power for Cheney. The United States has fallen into a vicious cycle where the jobs of the neocons and their fellow travelers like Cheney and Rumsfeld are dependent on their cleaning up the messes they have already started. An end to conflict would put them out of power, so we'll never see an end to conflict.
http://xymphora.blogspot.com/
A fellow at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, Ledeen holds a Ph.D. in History and Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin. In 1983, on the recommendation of Richard Perle, Ledeen was hired at the Department of Defense as a consultant on terrorism. While being investigated as a security risk by his supervisor, Noel Koch, it was learned from the CIA station that Ledeen had been carried in Agency files as an agent of influence of a foreign government: Israel.
After having his access to classified materials blocked he ceased working there. He next appeared at the National Security Council as a consultant working with NSC head Robert McFarlane. Ledeen was involved in the transfer of arms to Iran during the Iran-Contra affair -- an adventure that he documented in the book "Perilous Statecraft: An Insider's Account of the Iran-Contra Affair." A prominent member of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA) board of governors and the Center for Security Policy (CSP), he advocates "total war" inline with the "Grand Strategy for the Middle East" which advocates "Iraq as the tactical pivot, Saudi Arabia as the strategic pivot and Egypt as the prize." Ledeen is presently a serving member on the China Commission and, with the support of DOD Undersecretary for Policy Douglas Feith, he has since 2001 been employed as a consultant for the Office of Special Plans OSP). He is involved in the handling of classified materials and has high-level security clearances. He was also involved in election rigging of the 2000 election.

It was during a press conference on Sept. 16, 2001, in response to a question about homeland security efforts infringing on civil rights, that Bush first used the telltale word ''crusade'' in public. ''This is a new kind of -- a new kind of evil,'' he said. ''And we understand. And the American people are beginning to understand. This crusade, this war on terrorism is going to take a while.''
In the summer of 2002, after I had written an article in Esquire that the White House didn't like about Bush's former communications director, Karen Hughes, I had a meeting with a senior adviser to Bush. He expressed the White House's displeasure, and then he told me something that at the time I didn't fully comprehend -- but which I now believe gets to the very heart of the Bush presidency.
The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''
Who besides guys like me are part of the reality-based community? Many of the other elected officials in Washington, it would seem. A group of Democratic and Republican members of Congress were called in to discuss Iraq sometime before the October 2002 vote authorizing Bush to move forward. A Republican senator recently told Time Magazine that the president walked in and said: ''Look, I want your vote. I'm not going to debate it with you.'' When one of the senators began to ask a question, Bush snapped, ''Look, I'm not going to debate it with you.''

Israeli Sexpionage : The McGreevey, Condit and Clinton Affairs
Chandra Levy and Monica Lewinsky, which I will discuss later, can be called "Swallows".
Zionist Israel places great importance in its "symbiotic" relationship with the USA. In fact, the State of Israel would be unable to exist without the vast amounts of aid, both military and social welfare, that is sent yearly to prop up the Zionist government. This total amount is estimated to be more than 5 Billion dollars per year. In addition, Israel survives and depends on critical technology transfers that are obtained both through cooperation and covertly. For example, Israel now possess thermonuclear bombs and missiles, thanks to an American Jew, Jonathan Pollard, who stole the "nuclear secrets" while working as a US Naval Analyst. Pollard, it was admitted by the Israeli government, was a MOSSAD spy. He is presently doing a life term in a US Federal Prison for his crime.
The success and effectiveness of the Israel/USA symbiotic relationship depends on many factors. One is massive propaganda through the US based Zionist press that keeps the American people in a constant stupor about certain political and economic realities. Another is the near total subserviency of corrupt politicians, especially of the Democratic Party, who do not speak up because they are on the take. Another is the massive infiltration into government of what are nothing less than Israeli agents. Israeli agents in the Pentagon, for example, has caused the USA dearly in terms of the costs of the "War on Iraq" and in terms of its "hated image" around the world.
Lastly, a factor that is very important for Israel in keeping a profitable symbiotic relationships with the USA is effective sexpionage. Sexpionage is so important to Israel, that it has opened an office for this purpose right smack in the center of US political power -- Washington D.C. The office fronts as a post 911 anti-terrorism institute and is located at 3811 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 720 Arlington, VA 22203. The Chief of the office is non other that the immediate former Director of the Israeli MOSSAD, Shabtai Shavit.
The target in this sexpionage operation was the married Gary Condit, who was a senior member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. As member of the committee, Condit was privy to highly classified information of much interest to Zionist Israel. The MOSSAD leaned on their "sleeper and sexpionage agent" Chandra Levy to obtain the secret US government information that the Israeli government needed. The MOSSAD arranged for Chandra Levy, than a US government intern, to meet Congressman Condit. Soon, the married Condit was having a sexual affair with the voluptuous 24 year old Chandra Levy.
Whatever classified information Levy was able to obtain, on her "sexpionage mission", was at the cost of her life. One day before she was to return to California, she disappeared without a trace. The Washington D.C. police searched Congressman Condit's apartment for clues to no avail. Thirteen months later the "skull and bones" of Chandra Levy were found at Washington's Rock Creek Park even though the park had been repeatedly searched during the early phases of the investigation.
Everyone reading this report should be acquainted with the President Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky affair. This has been called "The Mother of all Sexpionage Scandals" because it almost toppled a US presidency. Generally less known is the fact that Monica Lewinsky was actually a "sexpionage agent" working on behalf of the Israeli government. She was, and probably still is, what the MOSSAD calls a "Swallow".
It is believed that Lewinsky's primary mission was to sexually compromise Bill Clinton in order to bribe him to release the Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard. The timing and unfolding of the "White House Sex Scandal" coincided with the efforts and meetings by the then Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu with President Bill Clinton in the White House.
The mission for Israel failed but it ended giving the Zionist state some peripheral benefits. In an effort by Clinton to rid himself of the "Swallow", he transferred her to the Pentagon with the highest "security clearance" possible and which is only afforded to top brass and a few high level government officials. Soon Monica Lewinsky was cavorting with Admirals and Generals and became pregnant. She says she aborted the baby.
No one knows what Pentagon secrets Lewinsky was able to pass on to the Zionists, but perhaps Paul Wolfowitz' great success in involving the USA in the War against Iraq may be the results of Monica Lewinsky's efforts on behalf of Israel. Sexpionage pays and it is paying big for Israel.
Was Gannon / Guckert the agent used to entrap Bush into doing Israel's bidding?

Falwell Confirms Lewinsky Affair Linked to Israeli Lobby Intrigue
By Michael Collins Piper
Television evangelist Jerry Falwell couldn't resist bragging and finally admitting the truth: he and former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu did conspire--at a critical time--to trip up President Bill Clinton and specifically use the pressure of the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal to force Clinton to abandon pressure on Israel to withdraw from the occupied West Bank.
Falwell's confession didn't make national news--as it should have. Instead, the preacher's confession came buried in a lengthy story in the December 2005 issue of Vanity Fair. Entitled "American Rapture" the article (by Craig Unger) described the long-standing and still-flourishing love affair between American dispensationalist evangelicals such as Falwell and the hardline Jewish extremist forces in Israel then under the leadership of Binyamin "Bibi" Netanyahu.
The admission by Falwell confirms precisely what this author first revealed in a story published in The Spotlight on February 9, 1998 and later recounted in a lecture before the Arab League's official think tank, the Zayed Centre in Abu Dhabi, in March of 2003.
Although, following the lecture at the Zayed Centre, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of B'nai B'rith, a lobby for Israel, denounced as a "bizarre conspiracy theory" the assertion by Falwell that the public unveiling of the Lewinsky affair forced Clinton to pull back on pressuring Israel confirmed exactly what was reported in documented detail in The Spotlight in an international exclusive.
Regarding Falwell's recounting of how he worked with Netanyahu in undermining Clinton's pressure on Israel, Vanity Fair reported:
On a visit to Washington, D.C. in 1998, Netanyahu hooked up with Jerry Falwell at the Mayflower Hotel the night before [Netanyahu's] scheduled meeting with Clinton. "I put together 1,000 people or so to meet with Bibi [Netanyahu] and he spoke to us that night," recalls Falwell. "It was all planned by Netanyahu as an affront to Mr. Clinton." . . . The next day, Netanyahu met with Clinton at the White House. "Bibi told me later," Falwell recalls, "that the next morning Bill Clinton said, ‘I know where you were last night." The pressure was really on Netanyahu to give away the farm in Israel. It was during the Monica Lewinsky scandal . . . . Clinton had to save himself, so he terminated the demands [to relinquish West Bank territory] that would have been forthcoming during that meeting, and would have been very bad for Israel." (END OF VANITY FAIR EXCERPT)
What Falwell did not mention--at least as reported by Vanity Fair--is that his meeting with the Israeli leader took place on the very evening before the mass media in America broke open the Monica Lewinsky scandal with much fanfare. Nor did Falwell mention--as this author pointed out at the time-- was that one of Netanyahu's leading American media publicists, neo-conservative power broker, William Kristol, the first American media figure to publicly hint (in the days before the scandal was officially unveiled) that there were forthcoming revelations regarding a White House sex scandal that was about to be unleashed.
In addition, this author pointed out that at least six days before the first news of the Lewinsky scandal began breaking in the media at midnight on Tuesday, January 20, 1998, an advertisement appeared in the January 15 edition of the distinguished Washington Jewish Week newspaper accusing President Clinton of having "turned his back on Israel."
What made the advertisement so striking was that it used a rear view of President Clinton (first captured on video in 1996) that had never been published but which, in the wake of the Lewinsky scandal, became very familiar. It was a view of the president, his back to the camera, clearly taken from the video in which he was seen hugging the soon-to-be infamous Miss Lewinsky when she was in a receiving line at the White House some two years before. This was an image that Miss Lewinsky had bragged about among her associates prior to the time that the scandal broke. So clearly, Clinton's critics among the hard-line pro-Netanyahu forces in the United States--who sponsored the advertisement in question--were already tuned in to the fact of the Lewinsky-Clinton liaison and of the fact that it was soon to be unleashed against the president to undermine him.
This author can now reveal, for the first time, that two figures at the very highest level of the Clinton White House were personally given copies of The Spotlight's articles regarding these matters and that, at the time, they quietly acknowledged that the articles were "probably right."
The fact that Jerry Falwell's acknowledgment of how the Lewinsky affair was used as a club against Clinton--in tandem with "Bibi" Netanyahu's appearance at the White House, following the meeting with Falwell--was published in Vanity Fair is interesting in and of itself. That magazine is owned by the far-flung publishing empire of the billionaire Newhouse brothers ("Si" and Donald) whom Forbes dubbed the 25th richest family in America and who are known to be generous contributors to the Anti-Defamation League and other elements of the pro-Israel lobby.

Atta was sitting in seat 8D. In front of him were the two brothers, Wael and Walid Al-Shihri. Behind him was his comrade in his final days, 'Abd Al-'Aziz Al-'Omari. To Al-'Omari's left was the Israeli Mossad agent, Daniel Lewin, and right behind him, the man who would kill him, Sattam Al-Suqami.
In those exact moments, a group of Mossad agents were waiting in Manhattan for the first plane. They had surveillance and filming equipment with them. Meanwhile, F-15 planes were on high alert in Otis air base, 150 miles away, not knowing in which direction to fly.
It is noteworthy that in those moments, the Mossad agents here, according to eye-witnesses, were dancing and cheering in front of the WTC. The Israelis were arrested in New York. Later, they were moved to Washington, and from there to Israel, and the report was quickly suppressed.

Missing Trillions Rumsfeld Buries Admission of Missing 2+ Trillion Dollars in 9/10/01 Press Conference
On September 10, 2001, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld held a press conference to disclose that over $2,000,000,000,000 in Pentagon funds could not be accounted for. Rumsfeld stated: "According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions."
Such a disclosure normally would have sparked a huge scandal. However, the commencement of the attack on New York City and Washington in the morning would assure that the story remained buried. To the trillions already missing from the coffers, an obedient Congress terrorized by anthrax attacks would add billions more in appropriations to fight the "War on Terror."
The Comptroller of the Pentagon at the time of the attack was Dov Zakheim, who was appointed in May of 2001. Before becoming the Pentagon's money-manager, he was an executive at System Planning Corporation, a defense contractor specializing in electronic warfare technologies including remote-controlled aircraft systems. Zakheim is a member of the Project for a New American Century and participated in the creation of its 2000 position paper Rebuilding America's Defenses which called for "a New Pearl Harbor."

Israel spends NOTHING on defense.
You and I fund it for them.
As for their successful high tech sector, about 2/3 of it is supported by US Government contracts for products like this:
Indira Singh, an "IT consultant" who previously worked on a Defense Advanced Research Project, and who was employed by J.P. Morgan on 9/11, in risk management, pointed to MITRE's role at the FAA during the 9/11 Citizens' Commission hearings in New York last September.
"Ptech was with MITRE Corporation in the basement of the FAA for two years prior to 9/11," Singh said. "Their specific job is to look at interoperability issues the FAA had with NORAD and the Air Force in the case of an emergency. If anyone was in a position to know that the FAA - that there was a window of opportunity or to insert software or to change anything - it would have been Ptech along with MITRE."
http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/archive.cgi?read=68463...
IS DEFENSE CONTRACTOR MITRE CORP. THE TROJAN HORSE OF 9/11?
By Christopher Bollyn American Free Press http://www.americanfreepress.net...
Did a central controller with "super user" privileges of the command and control systems of the Department of Defense, NORAD, the Air Force, and the FAA, control the aerial attacks of 9/11? There is only one agency that has that capability - a little-known private company known as MITRE Corp.
There are basically two versions of events surrounding the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. There is the government version, propagated by the controlled media, which claims that 19 Arab terrorists, organized by Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan, hijacked 4 passenger aircraft and used them to attack the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. This version, used to launch the "war on terror" and two invasions in the Middle East, is challenged by a lack of evidence.
On the other hand, a host of unofficial explanations, based on available evidence, make up what can be called the "inside job" or anti-government version. This version basically claims that agents embedded within the U.S. military and intelligence organizations conspired to carry out the terror attacks.
The two foreign nations most often implicated in the unofficial explanations of 9/11 are Israel and Britain. Both countries are supporters and beneficiaries of the Bush administration's "war on terror."
For the Israelis, Iraq, a major threat, was drastically reduced in power and put under military occupation. For the British, a oil-rich territory, Iraq's southern region of Basra, which it originally occupied in 1914, was reoccupied and its immense oil assets put under control of the Crown.
Royal Dutch Shell and BP, formerly named British Petroleum, are two companies said to be controlled by the Crown, which have posted record profits since 9/11.
While both Britain and Israel have substantial assets and powerful organizations in the United States, proponents of the anti-government version have not explained how a foreign power could manipulate the computer systems of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the North American Aerospace Defense Command ( NORAD), and the U.S. Air Force, and thereby control the aerial attacks of 9/11.
When American Free Press interviewed Eckehardt Werthebach, former president of Germany's domestic intelligence service, in December 2001, he said "the deathly precision" and "the magnitude of planning" behind the 9/11 attacks would have required "years of planning."
Such a sophisticated operation, Werthebach said, would require the "fixed frame" of a state intelligence organization, something not found in a "loose group" of terrorists like the one allegedly led by Mohammed Atta.
Many people would have been involved in the planning of such an operation, Werthebach said. He pointed to the absence of leaks as further indication that the attacks were "state organized actions."
Andreas von Bülow, who served on Germany's parliamentary commission and oversaw the three branches of the German secret service, told AFP that he believed that Mossad, Israel's intelligence service, was behind the terror attacks. The attacks, he said, were carried out to turn public opinion against the Arabs and boost military and security spending.
"You don't get the higher echelons," von Bülow said, referring to the "architectural structure" which masterminds such terror attacks. At this level, he said, the organization doing the planning, such as Mossad or British intelligence, is primarily interested in affecting public opinion.
In a recent article in AFP, " The Perfect Terrorist Plan To Level the Twin Towers Created In 1976" by Greg Szymanski, it was reported that the U.S. Army devised a plan in 1976 to bring down the towers using commercial airliners and box cutters as weapons.
At the time, George H.W. Bush was head of the CIA and Martin R. Hoffmann was Secretary of the Army. Hoffmann told AFP that he did not recall being involved in this planning reportedly done by the U.S. Army.
An architect, even of destruction, needs a contractor. Proponents of the anti-government version of 9/11 provide evidence to support their claims, but do not explain how the U.S. military and civil aviation control systems could have been hijacked to allow the aerial attacks to occur.
Because the attacks involved systems used by the FAA, NORAD, and the U.S. Air Force, the conspirators would have needed "super user" access to the command and control centers of these three separate organizations.
Super user means the most privileged user on a computerized data system. The super user has complete access to all files on the system. For the previously mentioned agencies, and virtually all other U.S. defense and intelligence organizations, there is one such possible super user: a little-known private not-for-profit organization, based in Bedford, Mass., known as MITRE Corp. MITRE also has a headquarters in McLean, Va., on a campus it shares with Northrop Grumman.
The MITRE Corp. is a major defense contracting organization headed by the former Director of Central Intelligence (DCI), Dr. James Rodney Schlesinger. Schlesinger, who was reportedly made DCI at the request of Henry Kissinger in 1973, later served as Secretary of Defense.
Schlesinger, a former director of strategic studies at the RAND Corp., was described in a 1973 biography as a "devout Lutheran," although he was born in New York in 1929 to immigrant Jewish parents from Austria and Russia. Schlesinger earned three degrees from Harvard University.
Schlesinger's father, an accountant, founded the accounting firm Schlesinger & Haas, and was a trustee and chairman of the budget of the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue. His father was also a member of the New York State Grand Lodge of Masons.
The MITRE Corp., of which Schlesinger is chairman of the board of trustees, is connected to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), MIT's Lincoln Laboratory, and Mitretek Systems of Falls Church, Va.
Schlesinger is a senior advisor for the Lehman Brothers investment firm and a member of the Defense Policy Board and advisory council for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The MITRE Corp. has provided computer and information technology to the FAA and the U.S. Air Force since the late 1950's. MITRE is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) for the Dept. of Defense, the FAA, and the Internal Revenue Service.
The chairman of the board of trustees of Mitretek Systems, a spin-off of MITRE Corp., is Martin R. Hoffmann, who served as Secretary of the Army when the "perfect terrorist plan" was reportedly prepared in 1976.
MITRE's Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C3I) FFRDC for the Dept. of Defense was established in 1958. The C3I "supports a broad and diverse set of sponsors within the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. These include the military departments, defense and intelligence agencies, the combatant commands, and elements of both the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff," according to MITRE's website. "Information systems technology," it says, "coupled with domain knowledge, underpin the work of the C3I FFRDC."
The U.S. Air Force maintains its Electronic Systems Center (ESC) at the Hanscom AFB in Bedford, Mass. The ESC manages the development and acquisition of electronic command and control (C2) systems used by the Air Force.
The ESC is the Air Force's "brain for information, command and control systems," according to Charles Paone, a civilian employee of the ESC. It is the "product center" for the Air Force's Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) and Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (J-STARS), Paone said.
Asked about MITRE's role at the ESC, Paone said, "MITRE does the front-end engineering. It's basically our in-house engineer." MITRE employees operate the computer systems at Hanscom AFB, Paone said.
MIT's Lincoln Laboratories, the parent of MITRE, is located on the Hanscom AFB.
A second FFRDC, the Center for Advanced Aviation System Development (CAASD) provides computer engineering and technology to the FAA. MITRE's support of the FAA began in 1958, when the company was created.
The FAA's Airspace Management Handbook of May 2004, for example, was written and published by the MITRE Corp.

And PTECH?
Note that both Stewart Air Force Base and PTECH are mentioned in the following:
http://www.rense.com/general64/moss.htm......
The IDC, a private, non-profit university, is closely tied to the Mossad. The IDC has a "research institute" headed by Shabtai Shavit, former head of the Mossad from 1989 to 1996, called the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism.
The IDC also has a "Marc Rich Center for the Study of Commodities, Trading and Financial Markets" and a "Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy." The cosmetics magnate Ronald S. Lauder, who is a supporter of Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his far-right Likud Party, founded the Lauder school.
Lauder, president of the Jewish National Fund and former chairman of New York Governor George Pataki's Commission on Privatization, is the key individual who pushed the privatization of the WTC and former Stewart AFB, where the flight paths of the two planes that hit the twin towers oddly converged. Ronald Lauder played a significant, albeit unreported, role in the preparation for 9/11.
Pataki's wife, Libby, has been on Lauder's payroll since at least 2002 and reportedly earned $100,000 as a consultant in 2004. According to The Village Voice, between 1994 and 1998, Gov. Pataki earned some $70,000 for speaking to groups affiliated with Lauder.
THE PTECH CUTOUT
Ptech, a mysterious software company has been tied with the events of 9/11. The Quincy, Massachusetts-based company was supposedly connected to "the Muslim Brotherhood" and Arab financiers of terrorism.
The firm's suspected links with terrorism resulted in a consensual examination by the FBI in December 2002, which was immediately leaked to the media. The media reports of the FBI "raid" on Ptech soon led to the demise of the company.
Ptech "produced software that derived from PROMIS, had an artificial intelligence core, and was installed on virtually every computer system of the U.S. government and its military agencies on September 11, 2001," according to Michael Ruppert's From the Wilderness (FTW) website.
"This included the White House, Treasury Dept. (Secret Service), Air Force, FAA, CIA, FBI, both houses of Congress, Navy, Dept. of Energy, IRS, Booz Allen Hamilton, IBM, Enron and more," FTW reported.
"Whoever plotted 9/11 definitely viewed the FAA as the enemy that morning. Overriding FAA systems would be the most effective way to ensure the attacks were successful," FTW reported. "To do this, the FAA needed an evolution of PROMIS software installed on their systems and Ptech was just that; the White House and Secret Service had the same software on their systems - likely a superior modified version capable of 'surveillance and intervention' systems."
But did the U.S. government unwittingly load software capable of "surveillance and intervention" operations and produced by a company linked to terrorism onto its most sensitive computer networks, or was Ptech simply a Mossad "cutout" company?
WHY DID CHERTOFF KILL THE PTECH INVESTIGATION?
ON WHOSE BEHALF?
GOT TREASON?

The mainstream media is actively pumping out half-truths and disinformation about Iran 24/7.
There is NO CHANCE that Iran will not be attacked by US or Israel in the coming days.
The propogandists are hard at work to sell you on the justification - no different than the lead up to Iraq...and you will buy it all, lock stock and barrel.
It's all a BIG LIE.
"It is said that Hezbollah is planning to fly the two kidnapped Israeli soldiers to Iran."
Said by who?
It is said that Hezbollah has developed a new longer range missile called the Thunder 1 capable of stiking Haifa - and then Haifa is struck.
Hezbollah denies having been the cause of the blast in Haifa, but the media conveniently overlooks this.
The "Thunder 1" missile was nowhere to be found on Google two days ago, and now it's all over the news.
You are being gamed, sheeple.
World War III is being sold to you like a box of soap.

CHENEY CONFUSED THEM WITH HIS WAR GAMES.
It is noteworthy that in those moments, the Mossad agents here, according to eye-witnesses, were dancing and cheering in front of the WTC. The Israelis were arrested in New York. Later, they were moved to Washington, and from there to Israel, and the report was quickly suppressed.

So Cheney actually ran the show on 9/11.
Our Treasury has been looted.
Our military has been degraded.
Our National Guard has been sent abroad.
Cheny works for George Bush Senior.
Bush Senior works for Israel AND China.
Next up:
Use of the same "flight termination" system to fly massive aircraft into nuclear power plants causing the Chernobyl effect in Miami, New Jersey and LA - with a possible fourth in Atlanta...all designed to effectively destroy the US economy and system as we know it.
Israel has already aligned with China to take advantage of the situation.
The US Dollar will be worthless. Why do you think the price of gold is racing so high?
All of this is coming BEFORE the elections - possibly as early as September.
Laugh it off if you choose, but unless Cheney is physically removed from office and tortured to reveal the plan, it will happen.
Your Democracy is already dead. A coup has already occured.
Will you go down without a fight?
Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Bush, Zakheim, Feith, Libby, Pearle, Wurmser, Chertoff and many others need to be physically interrogated.

Cheryll,
Our Government IS Israel's Government. Your country has already been taken over by a foreign power.
LESS THAN ONE MONTH AFTER 9/11:
During an argument between the Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, Peres said that Isralis' policies of continued violence might "turn the US against us".
To this Sharon retorted:
"EVERY TIME WE DO SOMETHING, YOU TELL ME AMERICANS WILL DO THIS AND WILL DO THAT. I WANT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING VERY CLEAR: DON'T WORRY ABOUT AMERICAN PRESSURE ON ISRAEL;
WE, THE JEWISH PEOPLE, CONTROL AMERICA. AND THE AMERICANS KNOW IT."
-- Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon October 3, 2001 (IAP News)
It therefore follows that America is fighting wars in Afghanistan and Iraq under Zionist control.
Politicians of the 'free world' are too cowardly oppose Zionism.
They were bribed and blackmailed into abiding Israel's wishes.
Israel has at its disposal the entire US nuclear arsenal.
The AIPAC Controlled mainstream media is reading from a script that was created in concert with the PNAC plan.
You have no government to petition to.

"The CDI's Ledeen, Amitay and Sobhani were featured speakers at a May 2003 forum on "the future of Iran' sponsored by AEI, the Hudson Institute and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. The forum, chaired by the Hudson Institute's Meyrav Wurmser, the Israeli-born wife of David Wurmser (he serves as Cheney's leading expert on Iran and Syria), included a presentation by Un Lubrani of Israel's Ministry of Defense.
Summarizing the sentiment of neoconservative ideologues and strategists, Meyrav Wurmser said: "Our fight against Iraq was only a battle in a long war. It would be ill-conceived to think we can deal with Iraq alone. We must move on, and faster."
JINSA, a neoconservative organization established in 1976 that fosters closer strategic and military ties between the United States and Israel, also has its sights on Iran. At a JINSA policy forum in April 2003 titled "Time to Focus on Iran-The Mother of Modern Terrorism," Ledeen declared, "The time for diplomacy is at an end; it is time for a free Iran, free Syria and free Lebanon."
JINSA, along with CSP, serves as one of the main institutional links to the military-industrial complex for neoconservatives. Ledeen served as JINSA's first executive director and was JINSA's "Godfather," according to Amitay. Amitay is a JINSA vice chair. JINSA board members or advisers also include former CIA director James Woolsey, former Rep. Jack Kemp and the AEI's Joshua Muravchik. After he joined the administration, Feith resigned from JINSA.'s board of advisers, as did Vice President Dick Cheney and Undersecretary of State for Arms Control John Bolton."

The Phony "War on Terror"
Tom Ridge Confesses Terror Alerts Were Bogus What better way to distract people in order to consolidate one's power than to keep the masses afraid?
Have you noticed there is a pattern to the "Terror Threats?" Everytime bad news comes out about the Bush Administration, we are treated with more "terror threats", or the face of yet another "terrorist" is plastered on every newspaper, every television program, and talked about endlessly. What a great way to take the attention off of the corrupt Bush Regime. How very convenient. Have you noticed the pattern?
If not, pay careful attention, America. We are being played for fools. Tom Ridge Confesses Terror Alerts Were Bogus
As most intelligent Americans have already suspected, the so-called "terror alerts" announced by the Department of Homeland Security during the past several years were completely bogus and were used by the Bush-Cheney Regime as a propaganda ploy to promote the equally bogus "War on Terrorism."
Former Director of Homeland Security Tom Ridge said that Bush Regime officials forced him to elevate the "threat level" on what he calls "flimsy evidence," reports USA Today.
Ridge, who introduced the goofy color-coded "terror alert" system in 2002, attempted to rationalize his behavior during a Washington press conference.
Current US Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff (whose last name means "of the devil" in Russian) is allegedly deciding how quickly to scrap the color code alert system.
The color alert system has not been changed since December 2003 when it was moved from yellow to orange.
Red" presumably means that the entire nation gets shut down military dictatorship style, since presumably "terrorists" will be found hiding under every citizen's bed.
According to USA Today, "the level is raised if a majority on the President's Homeland Security Advisory Council favors it and President Bush concurs. Among those on the council with Ridge were Attorney General John Ashcroft, FBI chief Robert Mueller, CIA director George Tenet, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary of State Colin Powell."
The color-coded system was a laughing stock from the start.
Wags noted -- if the color is orange, does that mean we should all wear orange and if you don't, then that means you're a terrorist.
The infantile American population, however, accepted this Ridge nonsense without protest.
Now that Tom Ridge has confessed that the terror alerts were bogus, bamboozled Americans can once again go back to sleep...

FALSE FLAG TACTICS:
These "Terrorists"...who are they...really?
The news media tells us that they are all Muslim Extremists - Al Qaeda. Are they?
How many of the purported terrorist attacks that have grabbed the headlines might actually have been "false Flag operations?"
I never knew what a false flag attack was until the past three years or so, when I began to do my own research to learn the truth behind the lies we are fed by the infotainment networks who claim to provide "news."
A false flag attack is strategic. The strategy works.
If you can make it appear that your enemy has attacked you (or your closest ally) in some grand and heinous way, it provides justification to strike your enemy (or those you wish to invade).
This is a TACTIC. If you don't know how frequently this tactic has been used, and to what ends, you really need to begin studying how many time false flag operations have been employed, who was behind them, who was warned of the attack in advance, who actually carried out the attack, how they did it, what the media response to the attack was, and what the political and military responses to the false flag attack were.
Many of the "Terrorist Attacks" that you believe were committed by "Muslim Extremists" or Al Qaeda", weren't.
If that statement is true, doesn't that cause you to at least do the research I am recommending here, so as to form your own educated opinion about this entire subject of "Terror" and how it is being used to manipulate the political and military landscape?
Nuclear war is going to break out very soon, and a false flag will be at the heart of it. Can we prevent nuclear war? Do you care enough?

Sunday Herald - 02 November 2003
Five Israelis were seen filming as jet liners ploughed into the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 ...
Were they part of a massive spy ring which shadowed the 9/11 hijackers and knew that al-Qaeda planned a devastating terrorist attack on the USA?
Neil Mackay investigates...
THERE was ruin and terror in Manhattan, but, over the Hudson River in New Jersey, a handful of men were dancing. As the World Trade Centre burned and crumpled, the five men celebrated and filmed the worst atrocity ever committed on American soil as it played out before their eyes.
Who do you think they were? Palestinians? Saudis? Iraqis, even? Al-Qaeda, surely? Wrong on all counts. They were Israelis – and at least two of them were Israeli intelligence agents, working for Mossad, the equivalent of MI6 or the CIA.
Their discovery and arrest that morning is a matter of indisputable fact.
It has always been a long-accepted agreement among allies – such as Britain and America or America and Israel – that neither country will jail a "friendly spy" nor shame the allied country for espionage. Chip Berlet, a senior analyst at Boston's Political Research Associates and an expert in intelligence, says: "It's a backdoor agreement between allies that says that if one of your spies gets caught and didn't do too much harm, he goes home. It goes on all the time. The official reason is always visa violation."
What we are left with, then, is fact sullied by innuendo. Certainly, it seems, Israel was spying within the borders of the United States and it is equally certain that the targets were Islamic extremists probably linked to September 11. But did Israel know in advance that the Twin Towers would be hit and the world plunged into a war without end; a war which would give Israel the power to strike its enemies almost without limit? That's a conspiracy theory too far, perhaps. But the unpleasant feeling that, in this age of spin and secrets, we do not know the full and unadulterated truth won't go away. Maybe we can guess, but it's for the history books to discover and decide.
