GOP Guru Predicts Obama Landslide (VIDEO)

posted by Ari Melber on 10/10/2008 @ 09:09am

Republican strategist Ed Rollins knows landslides.

He ran Ronald Reagan's 1984 campaign, helping the President win reelection by 49 states. As a loyal Republican, Rollins has served in several G.O.P. administrations, managed a slew of campaigns, and earned so much trust within the party, he still holds the honor of being the only non-member of Congress tapped to run the NRCC.

So it means something when an old hand like Ed Rollins unloads on John McCain, as he just did, declaring that the race is over, "no one cares" about McCain's Ayers attacks, and the GOP nominee must think about the fundamental question, "how do you want to end your career?" To hammer home the point on CNN, Rollins added, "this is going to turn into a landslide." It is must-see TV:

  4. Well, quite obviously, Ed Rollins...

is a socialist Marxist who associates with radicals and who hates America, God, and women...and who wants the terr'urrists to win!

    (heheh)

  5. Thanks for a little honesty Ed.

You are correct...McCain should be working on rebranding right now and saving congressional seats.

Repubs against bailout (return to true conservatism) I think were getting an office. The fascist mafia at the top of the RNC is burning down the house for President Obama but they are going to take alot of their kin with them.

  7. There is something sad about watching a gray haired old dude loosing it on camera in front of the whole nation. Even more sad is watching an honorable man sell his soul to the forces that defeated him. If he does loose i will be interested in listening to his concession speech. politics is quintessentially a zero sum game, like, poker, at its best. You have to know that there are 52 cards and four players, with the skill to understand risk, psychology and the moment in time. It is Senator Obama's moment. He is holding the royal flush ace high, and appealing to the bigots among us doesn't help. They would never vote for Obama, no matter how intelligent., or how right.

  8. McCain's main problem is....he either gets Palin or Cindy to talk up "Bill Ayers"...who nobody but the Base cares about...

or he keeps harping on "Obama's experience"....and everybody thinks "Well, if experience is so vital, why the hell did you pick Palin?!?!?"

So his negative attacks are useless or actually HURT his campaign.

But it's all he has left....unless he wants to just go ahead and fully become a Democrat (which he's close to doing!).

    Posted by Maskdelta at 10/10/2008 @ 11:55am

  9. He's way too far left to be a Democrat. He wants the government to buy mortgages on foreclosed homes and restructure them. That's right, taxpayer money paid to individuals so they can keep property they couldn't afford otherwise. Pure socialism.

Yeah, but notice it doesn't seem to matter to these "principled conservatives"?

Obama doesn't toe the line 100% on something progressive, the Naderite contingent threatens to bolt....

McCain can sound like FDR and fear of Obama and cultish party loyalty still rule the roost over at the GOP!

  11. John McCain might truly be an American hero... no, not for that POW thing(the real heroes didn't sign confessions)... he will be a true hero (albeit unintentionally) if he brings the Republican party down... Semper Fi!

  12. But the plan, which the McCain campaign appeared to be finalizing even after the candidate announced it, significantly departs from the Arizona senator's original proposal and has left many conservatives scratching their heads:

"The original plan relied on lenders taking the hit," Holtz-Eakin said on the conference call. "This bypasses that step."

Instead, the estimated $300 billion tab essentially gets transferred to taxpayers, among the funding already provided by the bailout bill -- a proposal that may rile not only fiscal conservatives, but also struggling homeowners who have worked to keep up their mortgage payments.

"The guy who works two jobs and struggles to actually pay his mortgage is penalized. He would be better off under this plan to just quit paying his mortgage," Lewis said. "And this fundamentally goes against a lot of conservative principles and individual responsibility."

    in other words, NEO-CONSERVATISM=MCCAIN

if you vote for mccain, punch yourself in the face first, or punch a CEO or have richard fuld punch you in the face

  13. I am LIBERAL because I have been around the world and seen people starving to death whom we refuse to help....while we bomb people in Iraq...been there, done that....it is not glamorous, either....my own neighborhood soup kitchen just closed because bush cut funding...people say "don't blame bush" etc....isn't he still president???? who to blame....my state doesn't have any money now due to federal budget cuts....people seem very prone to blame others...unless they are the problem....just like NIMBYism...we need to get off oil, but don't put that _____wind/solar/bio/nuclear here......

I have CONSERVATIVE values and believe we should all live within our means, and know first hand why china is getting so far ahead and how much sacrifice chinese people have involuntarily made...believe me, you DON'T want to go there.....

so am I neoliberal, whatever??? we need change...

I believe we can help everybody in this country with $700,000,000,000.00 without being "socialist" and even "socialism" is better than robbing us in broad daylight...IMO....if it means health care, good jobs, "fair" taxation, and not getting raped daily by bush, paulson, bernanke, etc....

if you have been overseas, you will realize others live much tougher lives and we are pampered and spoiled....and even supposedly responsible people now are begging for bailout but still REFUSE to change their beliefs.....same-o is not viable....be the change you wish to see...keep doing same will keep getting same...etc...etc...etc....etc...blah blah....you get the point...mccain is a liar...and palin is a trophy....if that doesn't matter to you...and you don't care about other humans not to mention americans, go ahead and vote for these clowns....rationalize it anyway you want...I give up....
