Mass Arrest in St. Paul on Labor Day

posted by Laura Flanders on 09/22/2008 @ 12:44am

New video was released this weekend of an apparently mass arrest of utterly peaceful concert goers at the SEIU Labor Day concert in St. Paul.

My personal favorite moment in the tape is an off-camera exchange. Police in riot gear have surrounded loungers in a waterfront park. They announce, "Ladies and Gentlemen, You're Under Arrest" and you hear one young woman say incredulously "Are you serious?"

Yep, I'm afraid they are.

Check out this video from GRITtv with Laura Flanders.

  1. Amy Goodman's coverage of similar events at the RNC is worth a look as well.

  2. 1:What ever happen to the right of assembly? 2: This is clearly a overreaching police action that will result in law suites. 3: This country is becoming a police state.

  3. What the Stormtroopers or shock troops are doing is practicing. It is called "Operation Falcon". FALCON stands for "Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally". It was initiated by the Bush Administration and the Justice Department. It has been going on now for almost 3 years.

There have been a number of massive sweeps that have rounded up more than 30,000 individuals. It has been called a bluprint for removing dissidents and political rivals. Kellogg Brown & Root a former subsidary of Halliburton have been constructing detention centers in the Southwest to house "illegal immigrants" and "unlawful enemy combatants".

Most of this has been largely unreported in the media. It seems to be that these are basically dry runs on the road to declaring martial law.

Got your "Bug out Bag" ready?

  4. If the bubble pops on the Global Derivatives Market which is much bigger than the stock market,(Compare the size of a T-Rex to a Cockaroach). The entire globe will be thrown into economic chaos.

Since the government creates wealth out of thin air and the who knows how big (600 trillion?) dollar international derivatives market is invisible. It is likely to be the next to crumble. This may well create a lot of pissed off people. Who may be likely to indulge themselves in mass demonstrations. And the criminals who engineered this mess will also not likely enjoy the prospect of being dismembered by the mob.

So they will need well trained shock troops (Blackwater anyone?) and detention centers to discourage the angry masses.

    Food for thought..

Cmon now, the term "All Hell Breaks Loose" is not exactly the End of the World. That might take a little longer.

Well, give us a SPECIFIC definition of "all hell breaks loose" and why you'd need MREs to survive it?
