When we talk about the environmental impact of fracking, the focus is on the pollution to our water supply. But what happens when that water supply finds its way into our food system? Ranchers and farmers working the land near fracking sites are seeing their livestock suffer, and their own health deteriorate. Nation contributor Elizabeth Royte joined Leonard Lopate on WNYC to discuss her recent Nation cover story on the secret chemicals that may be affecting our food, and the legal and financial obstacles that keep us from talking about it.
