I would like to concur with the previous comment from Frank Devito. It's a bitter and almost unutterable thought, but I believe it's true that the Israeli fascist regime is now to some degree behaving towards the Palestinians in a similar way to how Hitler and his Nazis behaved towards the Jews. The main difference being that the Palestine nation is in many ways suffering a slower and more painful death.

My parents' generation fought to save the Jews (among others) from Hitler, but now the next generation is so weak that we are standing by as some of the children from that same Jewish generation whom our parents liberated repeat history with their brutal oppression and "dehumanization" of our Palestinian brothers and sisters.

When will we end this, when will we start to tell the Israeli government that we won't tolerate this unholy apartheid and the murder of innocent people any longer?

You can start now by boycotting Israeli goods and trying to buy Palestinian olive oil and produce. I apologize for referring to the terrible horror of the Holocaust, but there are many millions of good people around the world today who can see it again in Palestine, and the fact that it is going on in relative slow motion under our very eyes actually makes it even more repugnant.

Poisoning wells. Poisoning sheep. I was not aware of these activities.

I was aware that the Palestinians, along with the rest of the human race, are recognized as less than human by the settlers and those who inform them religiously. It would be useful if the specific source(s) of this doctrine that officially delineates the human and the less-than-human were identified and fully explained as it is understood by its adherents. I am curious as to how it is to be distinguished from the doctrine of the Master Race, aside from the obvious ethnic substitution.

There are also Palestinians who advocate nonviolence. They are routinely beaten up quite brutally, arrested and imprisoned by Israel.

There is no political authority to appeal to as there was in the USA of LBJ in the 1960 when colored American were looking for justice.

The Zionists' tactics in "peace negotiations " seem to have followed the advice of Yehoshafat Harkabi, chief of Israeli military intelligence from 1955 until 1959, who said in 1973: "We must define our position and lay down basic principles for a settlement. Our demands should be moderate and balanced, and appear to be reasonable. But in fact they must involve such conditions as to ensure that the enemy rejects them. Then we should maneuvre and allow him to define his own position, and reject a settlement on the basis of a compromise position. We should then publish his demands as embodying unreasonable extremism."

As a result, we have in Gaza an open-air prison and, as just reported in Israel's newspaper Ha'aretz, a West Bank checkpoint managed by a private security company is not allowing Palestinians to pass through with large water bottles and some food items.

But none of this is seen in the American media.

Its 2009, and after over sixty years of brutal Ethnic Cleansing nothing seems to have changed.

Thank you for this article! I have (to my shame) only recently learned about Mr. Nawi. I have been following his story, and am dismayed that a country that is allied with my own would treat people the way that they do.

There is not enough coverage by US media about what is going on in the Palestinian territories. So thank you for allowing Mr. Nawi's voice to be heard here in America!
