Tom Hayden here, and Jonathan Schell's piece "Torture and Truth" in the June 15 issue, explain fully the damage done to all of us when the truth about torture initiated by those in the federal government is not fully explored. All of us are guilty if we do not make clear to the administration and Congress that we must have the truth; otherwise, this nation cannot continue as a democracy of free people.
