Web Letters: Chávez for Life?

All I have to say about this is, Viva Hugo Chávez! Congratulations to the people of Venezuela. They need someone like Hugo Chávez who is going to protect and defend them from the imperialism and globalist plans of the likes of Britain and the United States, who do not care about the poor people there but only care about exploiting them and raping them of their oil and other natural resources.

People here in America, especially our politicians (who are so closely tied to the oil companies in this corporate-fascist state we live in) see Venezuela or Hugo Chávez as a rogue threat and they try to get us to be afraid of them or to hate them, like Castro. The reason for this is that they are denouncing the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund; they want their money and resources to benefit their people. Gee, go figure. How about that, those evil bastards, only caring about themselves! So these nations are trying to break free from the global elite, the international corporations and private banksters and their banking cartels, and because of this America calls them bad!

Seriously, folks, we need to learn from Hugo Chávez. And I must recommend to anyone who has not yet seen it to please watch the documentary The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. (You can see it free on my blog.) This is an amazing film and will erase your negative thoughts on Hugo Chávez and this Venezuelan revolution. Plus, it shows what a real leader would be like, the way to interact with your people, not by just standing on some stage behind a podium above the crowd, like our leaders do, like Obama does, like Hitler did.

While removing term limits is in itself not undemocratic, do not forget that Hugo Chávez expelled two Human Rights Watch workers. In that sense, yes, he is a threat to democracy. The sad part is that I never read one word about it back in September here on TheNation.com or in IPS Press. All the while we read about the big threat theat Sarah Palin would be. It's called hypocrisy, folks.
