  • Thanks to Mr. Alterman for this insightful analysis of the shortcomings of Mr. Rangel. They are indeed shocking. In a future article, I would love to hear more about what he would prescribe that the Obama administration actually do in regards to Mr. Rangel, as it is not clear to me what "cutting him loose" means precisely, and it is unrealistic to hold the new administration to unspecified or unattainable standards.

  • Obama did raise (or allow to stand) a pitiful example of the way race can be used against someone.

When Bill Clinton drew a parallel between Obama's showing in a contest (somewhere in North Carolina, I believe it was) and Jesse Jackson's showing in an earlier contest in that same community, it was never the case that Clinton had a choice in the matter of what to say.

Clinton was being the liberal media that Alterman so longs to see. The raw material from which Alterman's liberal media would ordinarily be expected to come demonstrated exactly what they're made of, their true colors, if you will.

  • Excellent job, Mr Alterman! This is more evidence that the "liberal media" does criticize or expose Democrats when necessary, as opposed to what the Hate Radio crowd always claims!
