  • This letter is directed to Mark Dowie. Not having been on the ground in the area he covers in his article, I cannot comment on the the misdirected actions he ascribes to CI.

    However, regarding the comment attributing similar behavior, arrogance and failed programs to a number of other large NGOs--WWF, TNC AWF and WCS--Dowie must be held to the same standards that any investigative reporter is held to: he must reveal the sources of the allegations of arrogance and failure with factual evidence. That The Nation is willing to print allegations of this nature without evidence is a reckless misuse of the right to publish. Please present your evidence.
